i was at lights last year and a golf got rite up behind me reving the nuts off his shed, there was a stunner in the passenger seat and 2 of his mates in the back, anyway he kept reving so i give a lil blip witch (it was own fault lol) he then gunned it 2 redline and at this point couldnt see his lights behing me.i shouldnt have done it but i smashed the noise maker in to the carpet and as i let off there was a nice flash in my mirror .lights turned green and i drove off(not fast) just normal and thought he wasnt that bad giveing me a flash knowing i would beast him off the lights but it wasnt........
the flash was the afterburner kit kicking in and setting fire to his number plate lol silly boy
afterurner no longer on the car

I think it's good that young people can insure these sort of cars but enthusiasts are penalised as boy racers which is wrong, my insurance is low because I have owned quick cars in the past, I have gone from, 1L Peugeot to an impreza I have words up gradually over the 6 years I have been driving

I am 26 with full PNCB i have had 1 Accident and have got a CD10 (i think thats the code) and i pay £450 FC on my 2005 STi with all mods declared
When i was 22 thought i was paying out £1350 on a T2000 with no power mods just wheels and a few bod mods..

what younger people need is an insurance that only caters for enthusiasts so that if you are young and can prove that your on a site such as this and have a past of sport/fast cars then it should be easyer to insure a scoob.as in posts before not all young drivers are speed demons

Very unlikely to be affordable
I'm 29, 7 years no claims, no points or anything on my license, in a good postcode and my renewal this year is looking to be around £1600.
For a 21 year old dangerous driver (as it were), I'd be surprised if anyone would touch you for less than 3 - 4 grand.

yes and no, its hard to explain, although my father has a motor trade policy it costs £800 a year, third party fire and theft, i on the policy too, as long as my car is registered in the company name i can drive it, lol been pulled over numerous times in 2.0 16v novas when i was 20 with 0 NCB, and show them my certificate and its all fine! lol weird because i wouldnt really be covered on a subaru impreza at 22 but it still seems to be "Covered" when it comes to actually driving it on the road.
i dont pay a bean for the insurance because its my old mans traders policy and i work for him. yer if i had my own insurance on my scooby id never ever get insured in a million years !
