It does sound like the lambda sensor.

it's like everything else, the lambda sensor need to be changed at certain time or mileage due to wear and tear even though there's nothing apparently wrong with the car. Changed mine recently for the first time , fuel consumption improve by 30 miles / full tank.

I had checked my lambda sensor, its only 1 on my car placed on the manifold. Working flawless (bosch univer)

It normally runs lean with the maf and not rich, could be a hole in the fuel tank but you need to take the car to a speciallist or dealer, guessing will just do nothing for you except cost you a packet in sensors when a simple diagnostic may well find the issue.

I went to a mechanic who measured the sensor and he said its like new...
