Its gone up where as it should go down, it seems to me ncb is irrelevant if premiums keep going up

that theory is correct, the problem is the premiums go up every year so the 6 years ncb discount is suddenly applicable to 1300 in year 2 not 1000, so you pay 455 for year two not 350.

Its the ***** that cant drive a car properly or keep claiming pi should be heavily penalised.
Insurance should be based on previous form and ncb, i.e if you claim pi alot and have no ncb you premium should be massive.
if you have six years ncb and have never claimed pi you premium should be small!
its not difficult is it?
Someone that write's off a £15 grand car and gets it replaced under insurance and was paying say £500 fully comp that year, how much would their insurance go up to the following year? pretty sure it wouldn't be anywhere near enough to compensate, they should have to pay something like £5000 for the next year or not be allowed insurance again.

It is the same with health insurance aswell, I have had my policy with Axa PPP for 6 years now and the premium has doubled in that time and I have never claimed a penny.

Not read the whole thread so apologies if this has already been posted.
When calculating the gender to Accident ratio are the miles driven factored or when they're driven factored in?
The accident ratio quoted earlier was 1/12 vs 1/4 or 3 times more likely
Consider this:
Whenever the Wife and I go anywhere in the car, I drive and it's the same for almost every couple I know.
She drives less than 2k a year to get to work and I drive 8k.
Add on the time I spend driving us both around and various other trips we both do and I'm probably driving at least 3 times the mileage every year.
(Most of her trips are during the day when the roads are quieter aswell)
