Crocodile Tears all this I'm afraid ................. if you REALLY REALLY REALLY cared about the cost of fuel and its impact upon you - then you wouldn't drive cars doing 18mpg, would you??

Then, to top it all off, you modify your cars to extract MORE power and use MORE fuel!!!

Sorry, your plight will get zero sympathy from 99.9% of the population ...... imagine, for once, the real choice to be made:-

Reduce the fuel costs to those who want to drive gas guzzlers ....... or ......... keep open the child care unit of the local hospital?

I've got news for you - the gas guzzlers lose every single time - and quite rightly so IMO.

So, if you want lower fuel costs - change your car for a more economic one ...... if you don't want to - and can afford the costs, then that's your choice!

The amount you pay per mile is totally optional ..... I shall vote for the child unit to remain open and gas guzzlers to be charged even more I'm afraid.

Good luck squeezing the children of the future ..............

Won't make any difference what's so ever.

Yes the government may delay the April duty rise, but overall fuel prices will only go one way, up.

I predicted £1.50 by this summer. It's getting there. Just paid £131.9 for diesel today.

That's absolutely correct .... I get 45+ mpg and I don't like paying £134 a litre - BUT, it hurts a whole lot less than it did just 8 months ago filling my Scooby (the savings are huge).

It's all market forces .... if you do a big mileage then you move house to reduce it.

The Goverment can do very little about the spot price of oil ... or of the speculators hedging on high prices ... or on those who are stockpiling ... or on the Chinese desire to drive cars as we have done for 100 years!

And Taxes cannot drop ...... or, as I said, people will suffer in far more ways than just financial.

At the end of the day we can all afford to have what we want ... our complaining looks utterly pathetic to the child in Sudan dying because it has no food or medical help!!!

We need to stop whining and blubbing and stand up to be counted.

Not everyone on this site runs gas guzzlers.I admit still have the scoob, but i drive a diesel vehicle on long journeys or on my travels during Work as i'm all over the place..

And like someone pointed out on this thread earlier,if everyone converted to LPG,do you think it would stay at the same price it is now,it would just go the same as it has when companies/motorists converted more to diesel vehicles.

We in this country our minds have been conditioned to get shafted up the *** at every possible opportunity.

I say people that have kids should pay more taxes to reduce the cost of fuel.

So that is what i think. Oh this is only my opinion.

I cant remember the last time I saw a haulage company delivery goods in a gas guzzling impreza!

This isnt about people running performance cars, its about the every day joe, not being able to fill up his diesel motor because 61% of the cost goes into government coffers and MORE if the government gets its way!

Get a grip!

This country has bred and brainwashed a complete country to think they have no control over what happens in our own country!

Stand up and be counted and grow some *****, for once in your life, atleast!

But again, what do you want them to do? They're throwing money about like it grows on trees, and if they don't get taxes to at least cover some of it we'll be broke!

People in the world are starving

People in the world are being killed in the name of freedom

And here we have people, who can afford to pay the requested amount in tax to make the country a better place, bleeting and blubbing.

I'm standing up and paying my fair share ... unlike Barclays Bank of course!!

So, if you want to do some good - e-mail Barclays and tell them what a bunch of sh1tes they are!!! If they paid the Tax they SHOULD have we would be paying 5p a Litre LESS for our fuel. And that's the truth!!

So Barclays is costing YOU and I extra taxes on our fuel due to them being 'creative' with their due taxes!!

I think the government need to leave fuel alone for a while, its like a scab they cant help picking at, an easy source of money but it is going to really make things worse, people still need to get about and further increases just fuel rampant inflation.

Also, people need to think how they use their cars a bit better, by driving more carefully I have got mine up to 28 mpg, from about 21, I use my bike, I walk and I try to combine journeys when I do use the car, I see the neighbours drive to the common to walk the dog, drive to the shops, a five minute walk, drive to the station a twenty minute walk.

More sensible use of our cars might help us as individuals, but I don't see how it'll do much to slow down the across the board inflation that spiraling fuel prices are causing. The upward push in that case involves manufacturers and distributors who you assume must already be doing everything they can to minimize transport costs, and despite that still have to pass on a proportionate increase in the price of their goods. Economically it's a no-brainer, or at least it should be - high fuel prices are hurting everyone, non-drivers included, and it will only keep getting worse unless something is done about it.

I cant believe that signing a petition will make a differance. Whereas shooting the fat thieving basterds would...... its one rule for "them" and quite another for us.

as much as I abore violence I have to salute the students.

What we need, to be honest, is 10% Interest Rates and £10 a Gallon fuel .....

This is the only way we can ring the dross out of the system - if you cannot cope with that then you have been living beyond your means.

We need a massive correction.

Crude oil up $3.83 per barrel on the day today, mainly on the back of Libya.

£1.50 per litre will become the new benchmark very soon, petition or no petition.

This is having the desired affect. Have a look at the update. LOADS more MP's are supporting the campaign.

http://www.fairfueluk.com/is_your_mp_supporting.html

Keep emailing and see if you can turn your MP "Green".
