I get the traders in one section/SN in the other, but in the "market place Members" do i look in Parts/Subaru, Private car parts, or For sale general for subaru spares... Ive just looked and car parts are in all 3 sections. Glad Im not an astronaut.

Be fair, the guy has paid for both AA status AND SN all access subscription.

Must agree, the new section is a bit of a nightmare, and alot more time consuming if you want to look at all the new stuff.

It would be fantastic, if there was a way to see all of the for sale section new posts together, still have the various forums, but have like a New Post button for the For Sale sections only.

Also my other gripe is, excessive bumping. I've been on forums where you are not allowed to post on your own thread, within 24hr of your own reply, unless someone asked you a question.
There are people selling useless crap, that no one would want for free, and bumping it 57 odd times a day.

We're have to keep the old section alive until we get everything shifted and finalised. Then the old/duplicated forums will be binned once and for all. Futher meddling still needs to be done as well as fixing some broken bits (changing the layout of a 14 year old forum can cause some odd things to happen).

Hint: The old sections are the ones full of moved threads...they will die soon, so don't post new threads in there.

Yes, thats right, the utter mess that is 'Private For Sale - General' is finally going into the bin. Good riddance to it: Whoever thought it was ok and logical to advertise stuff like christmas trees, parts, electric gate motors, Subarus and bits of Subaru all in one place with a 1000 odd users (including traders) all fighting to get their advert onto page one must need their heads looking at.

As Ali says, instead of being so negative, please give us time to complete the job.
There are tens of thousands of topics to be moved and filtered through and that is a mammoth task, a task which teh moderators are working tirelessly at for your benefit so please, give them the support they need to help make it work.

This plan has been in progress for months as you will see on the "Have your say" topic and the forum hierarchy we have chosen has been discussed and double discussed and the chosen layout decide on for many a good reason. I am sure once we drop down to displaying only the new forums you will enjoy the new ease with which you can find things. In fact, most of the old ones have now gone.

Only paying members can advertise their goods - in the Section headed:

Market Place (SN Members Only)

 

great way to improve the community. Force people to pay or take their parts for sale elsewhere

 

TBF most paying members are on the level whereas the cheapskate non payers can be rip off merchants
