Pretty sure my missus would have told him to watch and learn about a new place to carry his racket if he didn't do one. But then, she's feisty.

Run on to the court at 7:30pm next week and run around like a maniac. When he asks what the **** you are doing just say watch and learn sweetcheeks.

Keep the moral high ground. Yes he was rude, but hes probably been at the club for some time so pulls rank or thinks he does. Just make sure you get the court at 8:00 on the dot in future. You letting them overplay is a privilege they've just lost.

My other half would have killed him, but shes Russian so thats getting off lightly.

Personally, I am not great in situations like this (have a bit of a temper) and I would have a 'polite' word in his ear next time I saw him (basically say that if he speaks to the Mrs like that again that racquet will be going somewhere racquets are not supposed to go)

I'm more confrontational than Mr P anyway, and to be honest, letting them play the 10 minutes over when I was paying would not have happened.

I have never had a fight, or had to become physical, I am usually good enough with the talking that they would rather walk away than find out what I would be like in a fight.

It helps that I am tall 'muscular ish' and look like I might kick the ****e out you rather than take another second to argue.

I think the best bit of advice was to be there prompt for your game at 8.00pm, then at 8.01pm get your mrs to kindly ask them to leave the court. If she gets the same response tell her to exaplain that they had over run their time, and if it's so important they can come back later and pay to money to use the court for the extra time.

Then she can stand their and see what they do, while you approach just to see what is going on.

Maybe the real problem here is letting your woman know her place. Taking her home and showing her the back of the hand may result her in not being so quick to ruin a gentlamans time whilst involved in a sporting activitiy?

ffs. what is this world coming to.

Why does your missus do the dirty work?

YOU go over to the net and do what you need to do, then if he says anything to you along the lines of 'listen love' call him a gay and run away.

Kick f*ck out of him then whilst walking away shout "new ***** please"
Seriously I would be asking him who the f*ck he thinks he is, however I understand not everyone is 6'4" and 16st like me, which does help to intimidate when needed.

"Listen and Learn Love"

Condescending, sexist **** ! she didnt learn anything other than he is a complete bellend, I hate blokes like that.

I wouldnt bother now, but on subsequent lessons I would make sure I was there five minutes before and make it clear I was waiting and at 8 on the dot make it clear its time for them to sling their hooks, game finished or not, I always try to appeal to their better nature and dont start off with a confrontation, a bit of humour tends to difuse a situation and realistically I dont want either a black eye, broken tooth or a GBH charge for my trouble but I would make it clear its time for them to go, failing that its down to whoever manages the courts to ensure that groups dont overstay their time and perhaps suggest that if they go into the next hour they pay for it and that you want a refund.

I mean, come on, nobody is actually goign to get in a punch up, this is the real world and I would suggest that nobody really acts on forum banter as you would feel a tit explaining at the Police Station or in Court why you punched another bloke over a tennis court or calling your wife "love", so dont take forum advice literally in the real world, unless you want battering or going to prison.

From 8pm it's yours.
Tell him you've allowed him to go on into your time for the last few weeks but enough is enough - he should be winding down at 7.55!
Tell him this won't continue from now then just set up in front of him and start playing.
He hasn't got a leg to stand on cheeky *****.

Personally next time I would shift the nets (whatever your Mrs was doing) bang on your start time and see if anything is said.

Where was this, Gosling?

ScoobyWon't just suggested "Run on to the court and accuse him of touching up your seven year old son in the changing room earlier that evening.

Then burn him."

If he does it again, look him in the eyes and say "Don't be a **** mate you've had your time now you're eating into ours. Now do yourself a favour and be a good lad and f*ck off"
It's important that when you say the last sentance with utter confidence and that you look him proper square in the eyes and smile.

If he says "or what" you say "I'll turn her (meaning your wife) loose and then, my friend, you're on your own and god help you"

Start the night on "his" court at 8:00 and leave the other one/two empty. If he wants to take the pish, rub his face in it.

Just walk on as the clock strikes 8 as soon as the ball goes dead. Stand a few feet forward of the base line and just have a gentle warm up between yourselves with them standing at the back with their ***** in their hands.

If they try to serve, or play around you, go and get the management. If they ask what you are doing, just reply "Watch and learn pal" and carry on.

Have fun, and let us know what happens

J

"Listen and learn, Love"
I would have turned round and said, "Watch and look, sweetie", whilst I cracked him one in the crotch, with the tennis racket. Followed by an apology of "sorry, it slipped".
There is always one *******, no matter where you go
