Picture of cat in the exhaust: Funny
Saying that you'd feed the Cat Antifreeze: Not funny
A few years ago our neighbour lost their cat to some locals deciding to use it as a football, kicked it to death, in the street. Yeah, real funny.
The problem is that there really are quite a few people out there who do that sort of things for laughs. Frequently.
Anyway, back on topic, I've never had a problem when cats sit on my car, ok a few dusty pawprints but never noticed any scratches, water pistols are a good idea, but could cause them to panic, if you have a garden hose, try putting it on the "mist" setting and then work it slowly towards them. Less chance of them going mental. They'll get the message, your car gets cleaner and no scratches!

oh my god i've started scooby wars! Ok I got to admit, I back tracked a bit due to pressure from the bullies and I pretended that I liked cats a bit, so for the record I DO NOT LIKE CATS, there I said it!

I aggree with Einstein RA and have refrained from posting any more on this thread (except this one!) as things could have got somewhat abusive
I do, however aggree that there is one animal, arguably the most destructive, selfish, aggressive animal on the planet, that needs to be controlled, maybe even culled in some areas. It doesn't take Einstein (excuse pun!) to work out what animal that is?

riiiight, so you won't mind if I come over and scrape my nails down the side of your car? They're a bit long and point on one hand for playing the guitar but not as sharp as cat's claws.
Try it, you might be surprised what little it takes to damage car paintwork.

LOL, cars are designed to be driven on the road at high speed wth all sorts of grit and crap flying around. If it was so easy to damage a car's paintwork with your figernails then I fear one journey on a salted motorway would strip the car to bare metal.

Good on you, mate. I donate a small monthly amount to a cat protection organisation and am an unashamed animal lover. I feel somewhat sad for those whose lives are based on such a selfish attitude that they cannot at least, have some respect for the other creatures that share the planet.

In that case get her a car with some proper paintwork. This whole thread is just ludicrous. Fingernails and cat's claws being able to scratch a car that hurtles along a motorway at 70mph plus with all manner of grit and the likes hitting it with very little effect even after tens of thousands of miles.
