I thought you were back in an Impreza? I suppose at least you can have some RWD fun on the Black Mountains as we AWD owners zoom off into the distance.

I was back in an impreza Ty, but my insurance company screwed me over for a previous claim that was pending which wasn't a road collision, but damage caused by a company that worked on my car. I unfortunately lost the case due to 'lack of evidence' even though I sent my insurance company 2 pages worth of emails from the company that damaged my car in so many words accepting liability and offering to repair my car but at a bodyshop that they wanted to use which was over 70 miles away from where I live, I refused naturally.

Basically it hit me hard and after buying the impreza my current running policy was due to expire a few weeks later, nowhere would insure me on a Scooby after that without wanting some ridiculous premium for it. I sold the Scooby with no intention of buying another car for a while as I was sick of it all, but the m3 came up via my uncles mate, at a price I couldn't refuse, and believe it or not the insurance came in at over £250 less than the Scooby!

It may be a bit more of a challenging drive compared to you 4WD'ers that'll be there but it'll certainly be a fun drive!! And it's one of the best handling cars I've ever owned.

It doesnt need to be super quick to keep up in the Black Mountains, just handle well and by all acounts those things handle well straight out of the box!

I have to be honest, after last weekends run i have the bug again and i am itching to come along on this, but im at Japfest the day before and don't know if i can pull the both off in one weekend

Sorry I had a complete mind blank then, of course makes perfect sense now when I read it back! Why didn't I know what you were talking about when you said running in map?? I had visions of an actual map for the route for some strange reason! And I hadn't even been drinking when I read that! Ok, well someone who knows where they are going will have to go up front then cos none of us will have a clue, we know quite a few places over there but we'd probably get horribly lost if one of my lot were leading the pack! Lol
