When I say don't get a quote from anybody else I mean don't get a quote until you have spoken to Gary. Many people on here have found him to give the best prices for JDM cars.
I also read somewhere that once you start getting quotes from others and putting your details into the comparison sites he is unable to help you.

2 claims in 5 Years, you need a slower car my friend by the sound of it, lol.....

If you can find one is the question. Very hard to find, but be patient, you're buying a specialist car! Ideally you want one with the original Japanese auction certificate to prove it has not had an accident durin its life in Japan. Ive got an 05 jdm with the original auction certificate, my car was a grade 5A, the highest, it only had 5000 km when it came into the UK at a year old. There are also a few jdm's out there which were imported new by companies like David Hendry, Litchfield and Performance Centre Manchester, and various others. One of these cars would make an excellent buy.

DCCD - JDM blobeye, 03 onwards

Type UK, 05 onwards

Still not sure what to do

2003-2005:
Could import one for around 13k-17k
JDM STI 9k-11k + mods + bigger insurance
UK stock STI 6.5k-10k + mods
Uk modded STI 8k-10k

I've got a nissan 200sx the car cheap as but the mods cost 1000s so its something I'm really taking into account I mean a set of coilovers £700+ remap £350-£500 so its worth getting a car with the mods done in my mind :/

I will actually just say that I love my 55 Blob-eye UK. Deliberatly bought it with PPP so I get the power with that low end burble that you cant get from twin-scroll JDM.

I couldnt be happier, and I think as long as your not ragging the hell out of it there is no reason why any UK spec STi would be any less reliable than a JDM.

You wont be disappointed with any STi you buy, just make sure its the one for you buy going and seeing them and giving them a drive.

If your looking at some heavy engine modifications I can see why the JDM would be better but if your staying under 400 then the standard internals on a UK spec will handle them fine.

I think the 350-375 mark will be plenty powerful from the more I've read I think it will be plenty

Fair enough, I just thought it was worth noting its not the be all and end all having a JDM.

You can get JDM STI for far less than £11K buddy. Don't rush out and buy a car, sit back take your time and wait for the right car.

2004/5 JDM STI, 50/70000K on the clock, good history and tastefully modified is the car you want.
There is one out there somewhere for sale,

Guess there has been a whole heap of money wasted by people having the cars forged if standard UK internals can happily cope with 450BHP

The uk newage is semi closed block mate and from memory are forged ( not 100%)
The biggest difference is hawk version where we uk got 2.5 odb and jdm got 2.scd and spec close to a spec c Jdm obviously.
This is all from my memory so any greasy spanners put me wright 100% plz

What is the max power a stock JDM could run?

Everyone saying the JDM engine is forged is this true?
