Not at that boost though... mine was running 15psi at the time of the rolling road....

Was your running 11psi when on the rollers, or did you fit the gauge after?

Is 11psi figure from the rolling road or from the gauge you have?

okay it was just people was saying it wont be making 300bhp with only 11psi of boost, what bhp gain would be made from turning it too 14/15 psi if i definately have the bigger injectors

will have to find out what psi im deffinately running before turning it up, would it require remapp if i did as the prova ecu normally runs at that

You have std injectors by the sound of it. Your ECU is meant to run 16psi! SO you wont have any fueling issues running 16psi, so NO remap required.

Like i said, get rid of the mechanical boost controller, and use the factory controller. Then see what boost you get. If you still get 11psi you have a problem somewhere else.

My guess is you have a shot gearbox, and the seller turned the boost down so you didnt know about it. I have seen it done.

380cc is the minimum fitted anyway, so dont worry about your injectors being to small for 16psi lol!

the guy knew nothing about scoobys so dont think he did tbh, he thought it was running 1.1bar with a mines ecu lol

okay but if i do have a shot gearbox how is there a safe way to find out without turning boost up, going for a drive and then something going pop, because i dont want to get rid of boost control in my drive, start it and everything seam fine go for a drive then it goes bang

You cant just go turning the boost up, you will need to get rid of that ecu you currently have and get an aftermarket or standard + ELS ecu... you will need to get it remapped, plug the standard boost control solenoid back in and the ECU will control the boost.

These engines are very delecate, if they are not tuned/mapped properly the big end WILL give up and then will cost you £1500+ for a rebuild...

ECU+Remap = around £500.... I know which one i would go for (and am going for)

Best thing to do is get it on the rolling road see what its doing for sure... no point in guessing

He has a Prova ECU, correct me if i am wrong, but they are meant to run 16psi std??? So tunring the boost to 16psi should not cause any issues. That is why i told him to ditch the manual boost controller and run the factory controller. Then the ECU will give him the psi it was designed to.

But the ECU is not mapped for use on UK fuel, and will be doing more damage then good running our pesky 98ron:

Hence why at the start of the thread i told him to ditch the ECU... but it falls on deaf ears...

There is only so much that can be sorted out over the internet lol.

If you want cheap, reliable power, go the route me and Jamz_ have.

Std ECU, with a chip. Cheap and reliable. And able to use 97ron safely.

Please post with your RR results, i am interested to find out. I belive my car is making somewhere in the region of 270 bhp @ 18 psi boost. And it is not what i would call that quick, but then i suppose it depends on what you are used to.
