Not very well tbh.

The rear arch extensions at the lower part have suffered. Mud flaps are a Marmite item imo. I can see their benefit, but still didn't fit them. In retrospect, I should have fitted the little short ones to the front and rear and that would have saved the paintwork a bit better.

Also, if I'd had the money at the start I'd had some paint film protection fitted to front bumper and first 6" on the bonnet as the paint has suffered a bit there as well. Still that's easy to say now. It's still in very good condition.

Regarding the wheel arches, even with 27k worth of stones, chipping etc been thrown under the arches, they have never suffered. I've always kept them pretty clean, but without doubt keeping it clear of salt has helped it the best. If you use yours in the winter or at anytime when there may be salt about (and I’m fortunate to take mine off the road if there is), then you’ll need to consider protecting them with something.

That's what i did with mine. But i got carried away and got the entire lower part of the doors and side sills covered in the film as well. But even with only slightly over 1k miles when i got it done, i was already rewarded with quite a few light chips on the lower parts of the door and the rear arch extensions

The design of the car coupled with no side skirts and fat tyres makes it impossible to stay chip-free without some form of guard or mudflaps. The paint is rediculously thin as well. Reading only 80-100 microns from new.

I wanted something subtle. So i went with Prodrive's stone deflectors. But i think you can't beat mudflaps for protection.

I don't get winter in my country, so thats not a concern. But i was expecting the archs to be quite peppered by stones with 27k miles. I guess i should have nothing to worry about if i clean them regularly then.
