Use p/heads mate rather than £20 over & over to Fleabay. I'd put it higher than £8k tbh as it has £10k of mods (think?) or take mods off & sell car for slightly less (check the market rate via other ads). Don't fall for the doom mongers on here - a good car is a good car & will sell over time

I sold a 2005 JDM STI a couple of weeks ago for £6500. Admittedly it had done a fair few more miles than your car but it's a JDM engine so not quite as much of a problem compared to a UK car.
Had good spec and really good history, shows you where the market is at.

Fact is that there are very few people who want this rare car, even less who will accept LPG powered, even less still who want the mods and severe costs to run.
The market has woken up, it's decided that Impreza's (of whatever rarity) are yesterdays toys. The money is going to quality and value for money.
It's sadm but that's just as it is.

My personal opinion on finance is not good. I don't agree with it and would certainly never have finance. If you can't afford the car then don't buy it, simple as that.
I'm a little surprised that you couldn't afford to buy the car but could afford to blow 10K on it within 2 years, strange.
In many peoples eyes, if somebody couldn't afford to buy the car in the first place then how would they afford to really care for the car, especially with it being a Subaru.
Your car looks and sounds really nice fella, but as stated above, the market is shocking.
If I was you, I would remove the LPG. Potential Impreza owners neither want it or even understand it. It will be putting people off straight away. I would then advertise it on auto trader and on pistonheads with some really good photos. I would also come clean on the finance situation and state that payment for the car will need to be paid to RBS.
It's not going to be an easy sell, there are sooooooooo many to choose from and one full of tic is a killer from the start.
Stick with it and I wish you luck.

Personally I bought the car because of its rarity as yes there are 100s of subarus out there yet mine is only one of four v - limited STI JDM in the uk. So slightly rarer than the norm and won't be advertising it on eBay again anyway as it's not the right place to sell a car that's as rare as this is.
I am going to the dealership on Monday as I have been offered the settlement providing I trade for another car.
And looks like this is my best option and have a choice from a BMW 320d or 530d both of which I quite like and will depreciate the same as any other car but at least it will be less on fuel and insurance and a more comfortable ride for my two children.

I have meant no offense to you buddy and as I said your car is lovely. I just don't believe in buying a 'luxury' when you can't afford it. Yes you can afford the monthly payments but at the end of the day it's not your car.
At the end of the day, if you had bought an Impreza that was within your budget in the first place you wouldn't be in this situation now. Nobody is going to buy an Impreza when it's financed to the hill. You say it's only financed to the value of the car, that's your value of the car.
In my opinion the car SHOULD be worth £8K, but the way things are it's just not. That's how it is,

Yes I would buy a car that is on finance if I had a letter from the finance company with settlement amount and paying the car off to remove the finance marker to a bank. If I were getting the car at a good price then just going to a bank to settle and have a fax sent to the bank to confirm settlement isn't really a hassle for the right car.
The LPG was on the car when I bought it but easily removed and may remove it to shift it.

So on one hand you've opened yourself up to a market for people who are after modded blobs-eyes, but the market is saturated. And you detered the ones willing to pay the extra for a unmolested low mileage limited-run model.
That leave you with a small handful of folk that want a modded limited edition and are willing to pay the extra for one with low miles....problem is the finance marker on the HPi check will scare them off. The lack of service history beyond the last two years is the icing on the cake....sorry.
It'll sell eventually - its just a case of waiting for the right person to come along.

Unfortunately I bought this car when I didn't know as much as I do now.
2 years ago I knew nothing about subarus and just saw it being a limited edition but the original wheels had been sold and the LPG conversion had already been added.
Even if I went to all the expense of putting it back original I don't think it would reach more than 8k even with it's low mileage of 30070.and can't be bothered with it anymore
I think it is still worth at least 7700 In Its current condition as it's better and rarer in my opinion than the 100s out there at 6500 and putting it back original might be a worthwhile project for someone to store it away and keep it original but don't think it would hold its value still as there is no Market for these cars at the minute.

Thanks pal I'm pretty much decided to accept the offer from the dealership to trade it in as I cant be bothered with it anymore nor can I be bothered with trying to justify my cars worth to people.
End of the day it's my car and that's what it's worth to me and if people disagree then they don't have to buy it.
Anyone that does agree its worth 7700 then they would get a very good car for little money in my opinion.

That's a BIG hassle compared to simply paying the cash and driving the car away, secure in the knowledge that you have actually bought it from the person who owns it!! Clear the HP and do yourself a massive boost to the sale.
