I think my car is worth £19,000 .............. I doubt anyone else does. And the difference doesn't matter one jot - untill I come to sell and I can only get £16,000. The car is then worth £16,000 and no shouting by me will change that fact, and it really matters when selling!

I have no idea what my credit rating is - I have zero credit and zero debt.
But, the fact remains that clearing the HP may well result in a sale at higher than the trade in ..... but, I would take the trade in in these circumstances.

I think it just needs some time, which you may not want to take, for my input if it were an LPG'd wagon I'd have been interested.
Rare + Std. = sale !
Stupid as it sounds can you sell the LPG kit after trading it in ?
dunx
P.S. Good luck in the DERV-burner.

Yes there are people that would rather just pay the money and drive away.
But the method of payment is so simple on my car to simply pay it into an account number and sort code into any RBS or online bank transfer then a fax receipt confirming paid and zero balanced which would take all of 30 mins max at the bank.
But can see your point and ive therefore just decided the trade in option is my best option if people don't trust buying it.
And going on Monday to wave goodbye to the Subaru thanks again for all your advice

You know the HP is an issue and that's why you list how easy it is to clear for the new buyer ...... but just that list indicates it isn't in actual fact straightforward - and there are so many to buy without finance that's where any buyers would go.
That said I don't think there are any buyers .... a trade in is the wisest move to move on - pass the selling to someone else who will offer it clear of HP.
Good luck! Diesels are the way forward

If it was standard when I bought it I might have kept it that way.

DCCD Hawkeye box & Diff. + neetronics £2750
AP six pots £1000
AET Turbos std. fit GT3076 Hybrid £1000
And that was just last year...

P.S. The last nine years have been bloody good fun, going from 215 bhp in a classic to around 400 bhp in a bug-eye STI. I have also met so many petrolheads too

ME!!
And last June I sold it even before the advert appeared on Pistonheads .... and when it appeared I could have sold it 10 times over.
I know it's too late for you, but it's as sure a statement that modified cars don't sell as anything I can think of.
But, I appreciate that some cannot help themselves

Mine is rare but Subaru's are too a penny now and Chavs are buying them and I personally would rather be seen in a nice BMW or Merc at my age of 35.
I think I'm over my mid life crisis now

I came from a Pug 206 gti 180 and your scenario fills me with dread, the thought of going back to a hair dressers carriage that only my sister would look good in.
You and Lewis should form an alliance!!

Must be terrible to have to get rid of your scoob and then having to hang around Subaru forums trying to convince yourself and everyone else that your new little French fancy is the performance car of the moment.

Tbh there's 3 reasons to keep mine
1 I don't want to sell
2 Its reliable and really good nick
3 I couldn't sell if i wanted to without taking a huge hit on my pocket.
But if i had my time again i wouldn't buy one, there too thirsty or more to the point fuel is to expensive, repairs to the engine are a nightmare and cost a fortune, and there's better cars for your money now.I bought my car 6 years ago and if id known what fuel prices were going too i wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole still fuel might get cheaper

As others have said, i'd personally be put off by the LPG (nothing wrong with it, just my opinion)
I know people say there is no market for these cars anymore, but i don't agree completely.
I speak to lots of people each day who are buying these cars, and are paying decent money for them aswell
