That looks spot on.

Had a go of my mates drift car and was suprised how tricky on tarmac with damp spots it was.

How does the Front Motor seem on the 4WD chassis set up? Been looking out for a TL01 or TL01R chassis to come up. Always when you have stuff to pay out for a bargain comes up. lol

I'm gutted. Not had a great deal of fun with RC bashing of late.

My Tamiya Brat that I used for off road torture died by back flipping about 9 times down a hill smashing off two wheels, hubs and cracked chassis.

I fitted a diffuser to one of the Big 6 Lotus cars, changed to a 15x2 brushed, 28t/92t and it fried the ESC.

Fitted another ESC and took it out the next day my Lotus Big 6's managed to overheat the transmission and now the diff won't work correctly. I can't find a replacement part even with Schumacher themselves!!! Arrrrgh.

My almost Race Spec Big 6 has been out of action whilst waiting for my Brushless to arrive from Mtroniks.........they closed for Christmas........when it arrived it wouldn't fit on the chassis as the wires are pre soldered. Even with changing the lay out it was too much of a strain on the wires on the shock towers etc. Did a bit of investigation at the time and it worked out it would be way, way , way under powered for a 1/10TH CAR LET ALONE at 1/6th scale brick that the Lotus is.

So that went back Monday.........and a EZRUN 4000KV 8.5T (5.5T would kill the transmission on the Lotus) ESC brushless set is on its way.

My son on the same day my transmission packed up on the Lotus drove his on the grass by mistake off the tarmac area we use and smashed the rear hub in half ( still couldn't find what it hit but made a loud noise) . So have got a new one of those on order.

So with the carnage I treated myself to a quick fix..........a FTX Vantage (Brushed) RTR . Went blooming well for a budget RTR off Road car for the first 45 mins of its life until it stopped working...........the ESC had crapped itself.

After a quick dusting down and debris removed it now looks like a 4 year old buggy sadly but can't grumble as it was great fun.

So anyway, I've ordered a brushless combo for the Vantage now as the 15T 550 was gutless for getting air.

The good news is........I am bringing my 12 year old FG Porsche out of retirement and plan to race it this year. I've jsut applied for my 2013 BRCA application and will be running in the GT Class.

Just need to sort out a few things like new radio gear, new RX batteries , change discs and pads , adjust the braking , fit new plug and change to some alloy adjustable shocks.

I will get trashed by the cars worth £2-£3k but it will be great watching the car go round slower than them so least i get my monies worth etc. lol

Will add some pics in the next week or so as I am stipping it down to re-fresh etc.

my Imax B6 charger doesn't seem to want to charge my LiPo s2 batteries.

I get the INPUT VOL ERR come up on the screen, and the beep noise.

in the instruction book it says its because....

ERRONEOUS SELECTION OF VOLTAGE OF LITHIUM PACK,PLEASED CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE BATTERY PACK.

I happens when charging off my leicsure bsattery AND off a 240v Plug adaptor as well.
I've even bought another Imax 2nd hand and I get the same

I got some sad news today regarding my Lotus Big 6 transmission.

I got an email from the son of the founder himself advising me that the car is such an old model sadly no parts anymore and no alternatives?

Nuts.

So, I have had a little thought and will convert to a Nitro spec Lotus on a 21/23cc engine.

Here's my latest purchase, it's not for me - its for my daughter, she's only a few months old but its a limited edition (only 240 certified UK models) so decided to get one now rather than kick myself in a few years time as they become hard to get hold of and put it away until she's old enough to use it.

Very cool. I bought one too for my daughter.

Ours in an import so doesn't have the limited edition certificate. The very fact its limited kind of put me off giving it to her so its been quietly put with all the other kits. Its one of those ones that may well appreciate over time.

I've been on a buying spree lately. Theres an Avante 2011 in the loft but couldn't be bothered to get it down for the group photo.

The Wild One re-re is from my wife for christmas. It was the very first RC car I had.

Nice collection! I think the Jun will be built and will be a shelf queen hopefully. I will pick up an Ansmann Mad Rat or similar and paint it pink, suppose I would have to get myself one too for good measure

Only thing with the Ansmann stuff I've read is that the screws are rubbish so get some aftermarket jobs. Also the kit shocks can be a bit rubbish too so get the Ansmann ally shocks.

Don't forget Ansmann don't sell the RC stuff anymore - they pulled out. I think its Team C that sell these kits now. The kits I believe I made in Korea or something then rebranded to the west.

I got mine from Hobbyking - I ordered from the China warehouse as it was cheapest and I had to get the car ready first. Delivery was shocking and took almost 2 months (sure I read not all delivery firms will transport LiPo's - iirc mine came with Swisspost or similar and I think they were the hold up).
Hobbyking have warehouses in Europe too (think there might be a UK one now?) so if you pay a little extra they should arrive within a few days. I use Turnigy Flightmax 4s packs in my 9e and they last well and balance good.

Oh well, its a while since I looked at the Ansmann stuff, my dad reckons the Kyosho NeXXt looks pretty child proof, its all a few years off yet though anyhow

This came yesterday. I've had 4 eighth scale cars but all have been 2nd hand. This is my first box fresh kit.

Looking forward to running it this summer.

I have an Old Flying point zircon truck, running a protech 21 nitro engine. trouble I'm having is locating a new pull start for the engine as the std ones buggered & the retro fit doesnt always catch on start up

Would you be able to bump start it from a starter box? For long term reliabilty I would ditch the pull start for a start box. They aren't too expensive and won't give you half the starting issues of a pull start.

Top 10 electric 1/10?

Tamiya Avante (Got a 2011 BNIB and a built Black Special)
Tamiya Egress (Built from a Vajra so about 90% new parts)
Yokomo YZ10 Works 94 (Currently have 3, 1 rebuilt and on ebay, another waiting rebuild and ebaying and a 3rd will be my keeper but collecting parts is time consuming and expensive)
Kyosho Optima Mid (Took a year to collect the parts to build mine. Not very original but very high spec)
Tamiya Wild One (Because it was my first, my wife bought it for me for Christmas)
Tamiya Clodbuster (not sure its 1/10 but always wanted one so was my Christmas present to myself)
Schumacher CAT (Not got one yet and toying with the idea of doing a resto job but not sure which to start off with Bosscat or Procat)
Tamiya Top Force (Not got one yet but next on my resto list once the YZ10 is finished)
RC10 Gold Pan (I do and I don't want one of these. I feel its "the done thing" to have at least one RC10 in your collection but I'm not a big 2WD fan)
Tamiya Hotshot (I keep looking at these and every time theres a NIB kit on ebay I always put it in my watch list. I'll probably get one eventually)

I kind of struggled to get 10 cars in the must have list. I've got loads more as you can see in this thread here and there. I would like a Tamiya tank and a truck but doing it properly is a big cost. I'd want the tank painted up properly so would have to farm that out as I can't paint for toffee. Either a Tiger 1 and do it like one from Kellys Heroes or a Leopard - if I could get a working Flakpanzer then it would be a no brainer but 2nd hand in good nick they fetch a grand or thereabouts. For the truck I'd either want a King Hauler with the Shell tanker trailer or the Globeliner with the box trailer and paint it like G1 Transformers Optimus Prime. With all the trimmings they work out at a good £800 which is a bit of a put off.
