Sometimes when I have been drinking I wake up the next day as if I have been training for a marathon. My legs ACHE, muscle fatigue can be very pronounced. Its not that often that it happens, but thre is something there for sure.
Maybe its just a sign of growing old. I guess I drink in the region of 10 units per week, but in the last year that has gone up quite a bit as I have been going out. Probably closer to 40 units....*shrug*. You only live once, and well, sitting at home being bored is not living

Thanks Luminous for your post thats how I feel I just wanted to avoid making an appointment with the doctor to discuss.
Glad I'm not on my own.
See Jamie you don't have to be SN's idiot after all to make a post.

Alcohol is bad, full stop. However, you can drink in a way to limit the damage and it sounds like you're not doing that. As alcohol is a diuretic, it means that you are dehydrated, so that might be the problem.
OK, so saying don't drink any more is unrealistic, but what about drinking alcohol and a glass of water alternatively?
BTW, wine is awful for dehydration I've found.

The most sensible solution is too stop, its never been a big thing for me, always hated the taste and obviously my body hates its so time to stop.
Thanks again.

I tend to drink a pint of water before bed, and then first thing and that helps a lot.

Hallelujah, somebody else has noticed.
I know Jamie and he's a short-arsed, feeble, cerebrally under-endowed little wart.
But don't hold that against him.

I think that it's better to drink wine and alcohol generally with water it lessens the effect of dehydration, but that didn't stop me going overboard on the free wine on my ski holiday last week. First morning husband and I both woke up with a headache and a poorly tummy, and I WAS drinking water with it.
Make sure you get enough sleep too as that makes you feel like **** too

You come across as a ****. You need to start acting your age; and soon. Have you ever kissed a girl?

To the OP, I would really consider going to the doc and reconsider how much you drink regardless. Drinking that much is essentially poisoning your own body, it will not thank you for it now and later down the line. Hope your feeling better soon though

That said, aching all over the body suggests something blood circulation or gland related. Whatever it is though, the smart thing to do would be to take the massive hint your body's giving you and flaming well drink less, before it does you any real damage.
