I was responding to stillover's comments about the white men being the minority in 20 years.
And for your information i'm in the position where i can blame black or white as it is the privilage of a half white/ black man to do so.

As to suggest that i am or could be a racist is a total non starter

If you come to Britain and claim asylum, you are granted a FREE House, FREE Benefits, FREE Education, FREE Health care. Stay in Britain for X amount of years and you can then bring your family over to stay. They can claim Benefits too. As your house is now to small, you'll need a bigger house. Not a problem. London and alike are full of 5 Bedroom mansions, ready for the British Tax payer to gift you with £8000 a month rent !!

Where the rest of Europe had quota's for immigrants to new EU member states, Britain didn't bother.

Britain is full, don't pretend otherwise.

Why are House prices so high? Demand outstripping supply. Where is the sudden demand coming from? Immigration.

Where you and me would probably struggle to buy a nice 4 bed house that is now £500k, Mr & Mrs immigrant get to rent one at the tax payers expense. Is that right? An immigrants living in a nicer house, in a nicer part of town, and getting it all payed for by the working man who couldn't afford the same house?

No. It's not right at all.

And then you have the whole issue of illegal immigrants...........

The fact that you are claiming a privilege based on your race makes you a racist.

Claiming a privilege based on racial status is racism.

Sound like a racist speach that !!

As said before, the state is now set up where you are worse off getting a job that sat at home with 3 kids watching Jeremy kyle all day.

Plus, if a 17 year old traines as say, a plumber. Will he get a job at the end of it? Today, probably not. But during the boom, probably yes.

But........ As I work in the Construction Industry and have seen this first hand. What is happening is that Construction companies were using Agencies to source labour. Where this labour came from they didn't care, as their fee to the agency was less per man than hiring a skilled british worker.

Should the Skilled british worker work for less? Should he work 40 hour weeks as a skilled Plumber/Bricklayer/Electrician etc for the minimum wage?

So skilled young men/women weren't getting the jobs because they were priced out by very cheap foreign labour.

Would you start working for the minimum wage next month if your employer decided that it was either that or he'd hire a Polish etc worker who would? I doubt you would.

Now get off your high Horse.

Labour allows immigration cos it generally swells their support followed by the Torys talking about/attempting to reverse it

Whats a total injustice is to suggest that immigration from outside the E.U. is sapping the welfare pot /pinching jobs from our boys

Tony, calm down. Otherwise this thread will go the usual way when you're involved. Some of what you have said on here is frankly offensive.

Personally, the level of benfits needs to be lowered. The balance of low paid work over high paid benefits will then shift.

With more people forced off benefit and into work there will be less opportunities for foreign workers, that plus no benefits to them will suddenly make them go away.

This will reduce the population and ease the strain on infrastructure.

Over inflated benefit and easy access to it has skewed the economic balance in this country: excessive population, strain on infrastructure, inflated house prices or rents, shifts in investment therefore, and so on.

Needs to be corrected.

The interesting thing here is that we are offered AV as as some kind of viable alternative to first past the post.
A truer reform would have been the offer of proportional representation.
AV is just a slightly watered down version of first past the post, with little real difference in any likely electoral outcome IMO.
Like a pinot noir compared to a full blooded bordeaux to use an oenological analogy.
Don't think I'll bother wandering down to the polling station on May the 5th methinks.

I personally can not understand the mentality of a person who would stay at home all day watching tv and not getting up and going to work for how ever little pay.

I really have no idea what benefits are available and how much people get as i have never tried to claim any.
The only time i / my family have had any benefits is since the birth of my
son and his child benefit goes straight into HIS bank account.

As and when in the past i have been without employment i have gone straight
out and found another job DOING ANYTHING despite being a qualified
communications engineer.

It's called having a work ethic and that is whats lacking in these people, if johny foriegner can do these jobs why can't they.

If the pay is not enough get a second job.

I once had 3 jobs to make ends meet if i can do it why can't they?

This attitude that i won't work for less than X amount or do a particular job as it is below them is the problem not the welfare state.

I could not care less if a person is pink with brown spots a lazy scrounger is a lazy scrounger regardless of colour.

And please don't spout a load of racist zenophobic crap at me and call me a racist.

Me neither as firstly it is little more than token watered down gesture to the Lib Dems by the Tories for forming the coalition government. The Lib Dems are continually sold down the river by Cameron and yet they can't seem to see it.

Secondly the result will be the same no matter what voting system we have as utimately we end up with a government of greedy self serving career politicians. The party they claim to belomng to no longer makes any diffference as they are call moving to the centre in an effort to seem more electable and therby preseving their own futures and careers rather than doing any real good for the country.

Locking the thread - too many Ad Hominum attacks. Which is a shame as some of the points were worth talking about.
