Was that just on the doors to improve the quality of Bohemian Rhapsody, or the whole lot? Callum had bought sound deadening off Litcho so I took it away with me just in case. I weighed it - 24kgs!

LOL, seemed like he added most of it back. IMHO leave it as is ... adding stuff back makes it more like a standard JDM STi

Attached pics of my old Spec C FYI.

Is it an "RA" Terminator?

What's written on the driver's door?

Was toying with a tiny Litchfield sticker on each front door. Or leave alone?

It's just a STi sticker with Subaru Tecnica International written in full after it - came like that. Only place it stated Spec C was on the boot, see attached.

TX.

Edit - mine was a Spec C WR Ltd, 2004 car built for homologation although could be wrong on that last bit

2nd edit - the white hawk is a Spec C Type RA, belonged to juggers/immy

OK... here are the weights:

1350kgs was what the book weight was of my original MY03 Spec C. This was the "real" lightweight version with most things deleted (certainly more deletions than the later models). When I stripped this out I managed to get down to 1330kgs (IIRC)..... and that was FULLY fuelled up.

Just to put this into perspective, the book weight of 1350kgs was a Spec C with no rear high level spoiler, no air-con and no electric mirrors or windows. I'm sure there was something else as well that the "fat" Spec C's had in general over and above the "lighter" ones.

MY06 UK STI weighs in at 1480kgs.
MY06 JDM STI weighs in at 1460kgs.
MY06 JDM SPEC C weighs in at 1390kgs.

As I said previously.... with each model revision more weight has been added over the years.

TX,
Says the guy who had a "gay" WR version with electric everything and air-con!

Glad we could twist your arm to get a JDM twin scroll Ok it doesnt have the "burble" but I really do like the sound these cars make and the power band it fantastic, people think the 2.5 is better but I dont
All the best with your new toy just remember these have 6 month service intervals like the classics

I have had my my05 Spec C on the weighbridge at work and it has, high level spoiler, non standard front bumper(which must weigh more), lenso alloys which are light weight 6.9kg ones. it was 1370kg with full 12ltr water spary and half tank of fuel.

Well done Andy for joining the Spec C club!!!
Car looks fantastic

After having Iain fit a few whiteline goodies to mine a couple of weeks ago, i can honestly say i now know what you mean by saying "handles like its on rails" the difference is nigh and day between the standard setup!

Just as a side note i got my Spec C boot sticker off ebay, they were only about £10 and came from japan, plus that was for the full boot and side door stickers.

OK, being pedantic, but are the UK STi's not 1495kgs?

There's only 70Kg difference as Shaun has mentioned. Also I believe that whilst the roof is indeed lighter, it's not made of aluminium.
