You don't need bigger exhausts or brakes or remaps etc. either! They are all just things you choose as an individual to do to your car Are these all chavvy too then

Does anyone here have a constructive debate to put forward onto this thread or are you more sited to staying here and having cheap shots and throwing the bullying card around

And you missed the point when I said that many of them do as the owners just bolt them on with no thought for the mapping or whatever. Just use the search on here if you don't believe me... there are plenty of threads with people saying 'my car rang like a piece of **** until I took the whoosh pop bang DV off and put the proper one back on'

And I have already said that they don't all cause problems, The point is there are people on this thread saying they cause engine failure when there is no proof of this, Why don't people give good advice and tell the people asking the questions regarding dump valves about the ones that you know cause running issues instead of saying they will blow your engine up And as for people thinking they know better than Subaru, I take it your car is completely factory standard then?

The point CoB is trying to make and you are failing to get is that a bigger exhaust with supporting mods can give you more power, bigger brakes can help you stop quicker, remaps can give you more power..... a VTA DV gives you.... a stupid noise when you change gear!
Hmmm, let me see now.... can I see the difference there?.... just about I think

So there is never any need to use a VTA dump valve at all then? I think your wrong

No, but 99% of people buy one becase it goes whoosh and bolt it to the car with no thought as to whether it will cause any issues.
I am sure in a properly tuned set up it could bring about some benefit under certain builds, but most of them are just stuck on the stock engine and map as they are a cheap accessory and they make a great noise

Loud exhausts are just as bad as VTA's, infact i'd rather hear the odd VTA whoosh than a constant drone

Er ... putting on a bigger exhaust with no cat and then mapping the car for that set up will make more power... absolutely!! That was why in my post I said ' a bigger exhaust with supporting mods'

So you contradict yourself then as in your eyes Subaru would of fitted your mod's and mapped it from the factory but they didn't so it shouldn't of been done I'll leave you to go back over your posts and see your contradictions and unfactual opinions, This is the problem, There is nothing helpfull about what you say, If you know of a dump valve that causes problems then tell people but if not then keep your opinions to yourselves until someone starts a thread asking "what's your opinions on dump valves" It's a bit like me saying your Subaru is going to blow up because one the same year blew up yesterday so they must all be faulty You have your opinions and I have mine but I don't try and ram mine down peoples throats and accept that people have different tastes

If you alter your engine or anything to do with it and have the car remapped for it then that is sensible
If you alter your engine or anything to do with it and don't have the car remapped for it then that is clearly daft
It has nothing to with what Subaru fitted to your car as long as you adjust your car for the new part.... 99% of people who buy VTA DVs don't even attempt to do that.... then when their car runs badly they can't work out why.... because in that spec (the one Subaru designed the car for) a VTA does not work properly ) - that is the difference
Please please please tell me you can undertsand that!

FFS this is like pulling teeth. I am going to make this really simple for you.

Have you actually read anything I have written I would like to see the results of your extensive testing showing that all VTA dump valves cause problems on all Impreza engines

As I said twice already on this thread if you just do a search you will find a myriad of posts regarding VTA DVs and various aspects of poor running.... mind you that won't tell you what you want to hear so instead forget everything I and others have said and stick whatever you want on your car... it'll be sweet.
As for ramming my opinion down people's throats it's a discussion forum and opinions are what it is about... you don't like what I write just ignore it.
Have a nice evening

So bigger brakes don't increase braking performance, remaps don't increase engine performance etc. What sort of performance does a VTA dump valve increase. And please name these 'majority' of parts that don't increase a cars perfomance in some way... oh wait you can't - end of discussion.

Hmmm, let me see now.... can I see the difference there?.... just about I think :Whatever
but surely if you mod your car like that to run say 400+ bhp its all just a waist of money as you can only drive 60 mph on the roads anyway. dont get me wrong im not picking bones because i at some point want 400+ but i wont take my dv off and i pitty the fool who calls me a chav or **** to my face because of it. but at the end of the day whether a vta dv works or not its up to the person who wants it imho and as said above this is a subaru site and we should all get on because of our intrest in the cars and help each other out be it a paid member or not

Have done a search many times as I keep getting told there are lot's of threads regarding VTA dump valves and funnily enough there isn't, There are only really people asking what dump valve then the same people preaching about how they are the devils creation, Yes I have read that some people have had problems with certain dump valves so as I have already said, Why don't you help others by telling them what ones cause problems instead of condemning every single make and model out there just because it doesn't fit in with your age group Say what you want but you just keep going round in circles saying the same thing then when you can't prove it you tell me to read posts from others who also have no proof I'm not talking about the odd faulty valve which is inevitable I'm talking about the fact that people on here say VTA dump valves cause engine failure Show me some proof!

But every chav I have ever seen driving a car has a loud exhaust, If your correct in what your saying and to quote you exactly "burbley exhaust which is simply just louder than the original" that is exactly the same as an actual add on that gives a ridiculous extra noise
