So bigger brakes don't increase braking performance, remaps don't increase engine performance etc. What sort of performance does a VTA dump valve increase. And please name these 'majority' of parts that don't increase a cars perfomance in some way... oh wait you can't - end of discussion.
And to quote you again " burbley exhaust which is simply just louder than the original " Named one yourself

But every chav I have ever seen driving a car has a loud exhaust, If your correct in what your saying and to quote you exactly "burbley exhaust which is simply just louder than the original" that is exactly the same as an actual add on that gives a ridiculous extra noise

Ok then why did YOU say it It is exactly the same and you know it, You even admitted it was only fitted for the sound

WHERE did I admit this? I admitted that it was fitted as I like the burbely sound yes, but I never said it was purely for this reason. That dear boy is deliberately putting words in my mouth. Being a decatted exhaust it also gave me a little more power as well as faster turbo spool which has been proved decats do. If you want to debate that's fine but DO NOT put words in my mouth or 'spin' the facts a la Pete Lewis. I'll ask for a fifth time on this thread, why hasn't anyone apart from one other member commented on the thread in NSR? Cat got your tongues?? I'm off to watch the football as I enjoy a good debate but not a deliberately spun one where the other gentleman is clutching straws. Good day to you Sir.

There seems to be a bit of hypocrisy and contradiction on here, let me get this right:
You can not have a dump valve because it's noisy and makes you look like a chav and your Impreza will disappear in a mushroom cloud and you will be ridiculed on SN and be a worse person than Gary Glitter, Ian Brady and Peter Sutcliffe combined.
But you can have a big exhaust like COB that also makes a noise but does not make you look like a chav, and on SN you are a hero and get big kudos with the NSR massive.
And the moderators will lick your chocolate starfish and say you are a good old boy (very clean).
Is this correct?

^^^^ pretty much yeah. decatted exhaust=sensible mod to increase power cheaply. dump valve = chavvy tat that may make your car run worse and makes you look like a ****. ok if you want to impress 14 year old girls at maccy d's
now an external wastegate or a screamer pipe is a different animal altogether

Decatted exhaust can destroy your engine without an expensive remap though apparently so no better than a Dump valve
In my opinion your also bang out of order saying that everyone with VTA dump valves is looking for 14 year old girls, That's just wrong

The following is a general comment and not directed at anyone in particular:
Each to their own. I can think of better reasons to insult someone than what they put on their car quite frankly! I doubt anyone with a loud exhaust or DV is suddenly going to say: "Oh, I've wasted my life". One can only give technical advice and if someone doesn't want to listen, that's their prerogative.
Really, chaps!!!!

Clearly my point is being overlooked by anyone who is in the Anti VTA dump valve squad, I never said the dump valve gave any performance gains, I have never said that, You should read all of my posts in this thread to understand why I have said what you have quoted I run a standard dump valve but don't look down on people who have a VTA and all I ask for and keep asking for is proof of what they preach, If you don't like them then fair enough but there is no need for people who run VTA's to be called names and told they drive round looking for 14 year old girls etc. Friendly bunch Subaru owners these days hey

we obviously have two different types of car enthusiasts here ! the ones like myself "so called chavs " that enjoy modifying their cars to make them sound , perform and look individual and to their tastes . then the ones who appreciate subaru and cars for what they are ! all i know is personally i find standard cars boring to be honest ! im on this forum as a fan of modifying, not as a fan of subaru !

I just seen the message from last nite but that was sent from my other half and not me so if this caused offence then I'm sorry.now after reading this it does seem to me that if you are going to mcdonalds to impress a 14 yr old with your bov then your not rite in the head and probably be some form of pervert so for a guy that's posted 16000+ posts I would have thought that you would know better then to write something so daft. Read it back to yourself and I think you will see why she got the hump

this is not what i meant at all and your other half has taken the wrong end of the stick. my implication was that these BOVs are used by wee lads of 16 - 17 years old to impress their mates and wee girls at their local maccy d's. my intention was to associate BOVs with the burburry wearing chavvy wee lads who run about in 306 turbo Ds with the whistley sound evertime they change gear. at no stage did i suggest that they were used by grown men crusing maccy d's car park to pick up 14 year old girls and i take offence at you or your other half making out that I would even think that.
I have read it back and how you or wild pikey could associate having a BOV and being a paedophile is both illogical and if i am honest a lttle bit creepy on your part if thats the way your minds work.
Hope this had cleared things up for you.

Something a lot of you seem to have missed if Vent to Air valves or Blow Off Valves were so bad as to cause engines to become weapons of mass destruction do you think
1) The aftermarket manufactures would build and release them (especially in the USA (lawsuit culture) for the impreza knowing this as they would have tested )
2) All the guys 'n' Girls out there with Vent to Air valves or Blow Off Valves would be on here continuously moaning their engines exploded etc.
3) Facetube & other forums globally would be full of people moaning highlighted in point 2.
So again it's a personal like or dislike which has the dislike brigade quoting that is evil & most Chav like to fit & use.
This forum was always an excellent source for resource for the Scooby but seems over the past few months has just turned into a I can P*ss further than you competition ground.
Oh well as they say all good things come to end
(This post reply was brought to you without any text or acronyms so as to allow maximum understanding by the masses whether they be young or old )

Need to combine it with baggy tracksuits bottoms tucked into White socks and oversized trainers
Funny T-Shirt with some obscure sports name
Best gold neck chain from Argos on by now pay later scheme
A rear facing baseball cap ( not sure where you get them from )
Always carry your Mobile phone ( make sure you have a couple of quid for texts ) in your hand
and a home made tattoo on your hand/ arms/ leg/ neck etc
And make sure you have enough for a buy one get one free Mcdonalds
That's you sorted for the girls and Mr J Kyle will put you up in a cheap hotel with a few lagers for a future show

Not sure if this is the right thread but need some advice.
I'm looking to fit some blue under car neons along with blue neon washer jets.
Has anybody in this thread done this as I'm after some advice about the wiring.
Also, a mate down the road reckons I'll get about 7 bhp increase if I fit stickers down my doors, he says they are called 'go faster stickers', Is he pulling my leg.
Thanks in advance,
Matt.
I love stoking the fire, Hahahahahahaha. Sorry, I'm bored.

I believe he is correct in what he is saying as a cousin of a mate told me the same
Also I believe you can get what they call w##ker lights for the jets on the bonnet
They look cool along with black net stockings over the rear lights and fake Audi running light strips on the front
Fake Ring stickers help for downward force and you will become the total package for McDonalds car park and the Barry boys website will treat you as a cult hero

Initial D,
Well done for starting such a boring thread! Bored me to tears! Seriously, congrats'! This has been a real journey reading all 8 pages but I feel I have learnt much, not about BOVs though.
Now to put my 20 pence in.
I love the sound of BOVs, ever since they first came out and my Bro' had one on his RS Turbo, as soon as I could afford a turbo'd car that was first on my list of mods. You haters can put me in whatever bracket you like. Each to their own!!!!
Going back to Fast & Furious, I read a long time ago that the sound of the Eclipse was dubbed in with the sound of a seriously tuned Civic! Also the sound that a BOV makes also depends on the amount of boost you have, mine makes all sorts of different noises depending on when I let off.
