Good to hear you're not giving up yet James

Ryan, my bottom end has been gone for two weeks now, I've now got a cover over it, written up a wishlist and gonna do all the little bits that needs to be done before forging the engine I was adamant that I was gonna break the R but after speaking to a lot of people, Anger included, I decided to keep the old girl!! You will regret it, I regret selling my old Blob as the current owner is driving it round like a kn@b and slowly killing it

My R will be bigger and better than ever albeit with a few grand spent and a lot of overtime

Stick with it, you'll thank yourself later!!

I was having a little play with a 22b and Elise when all of a sudden the Syvec's shut all power down, so i coasted to the road side to see water behind the car, opened the bonnet to see water all over the overflow and that part of the engine bay

Like you the engines only about 3 thousand miles old and was changed to be bullet proof for what i use the car for... does make you think why bother sometimes

Thanks Mervil,I read your thread and felt gutted for you mate and I'm glad to hear your going to stick with it,how long do you think it will take to get her back up and running given what needs doing?
I have got one thing on my side in that the bottom end is already forged and has only done just over 2k miles so its still mint.

To true Anger its very disheartening to spend alot of time and money building something like this and then have to do it again so soon.

That's good news at least

I've got my wedding to pay for before I even think of saving for the build but have got time on my side as we've got another car so that's a good thing! I'm just gonna take my time and get I just right!

It will be a while then by the sounds of it but as you say get it right which is what counts.
I'm lucky on the car side of things as I currently have 5 others to choose from[greedy I know lol]so I can take my time as well if I decide to do it.

You should have seen me when mine went: French motorway, around 2pm, SUNday afternoon.

Had to pay over £200 to get it off the motorway, then a further nearly £500 to get it to Calais.
Had to rebook Dover-Calais instead of the already booked Zeebrugge-Hull. No cabin or meal on the Dover Calais.

RAC brought it home from Dover, but their guy ran out of hours at Canterbury, so they lent me a car to go home and brought it on a transporter three days later.
Took me nearly 30 hours from leaving the French house to getting home, I was shattered.

AND, to cap it all, Mrs had said No to foreign get-you-home, so the £700 spent which COULD have come off the price to rebuild, was dead money

Still, thanks to the incredible help and kindness of Harvey Smith, it's alive and well and my pride and joy again.

That does sound like a right PITA Jeff,I'm swaying more to rebuilding with the kind words of support and what other have been through with there's.
Anger's HG failed last night as well

When my engine failed I didn't for one second consider breaking my Spec C, it's had a full engine rebuild and uprate - as 53 has said just get it rebuilt.

Come back bigger and better, I have and so should you.
