Dont listen to all the negative comments about being a bit gangster and arthur daley, they are a very nice car, more than capable of being a good family cAr, quite a good looking car, not as well built as audi or bmw but half the cost so who cars, plus if the dogs and family are gonna be in it a fair bit its only gonna get trashed anyway!! Go for it and be a bit different!!

I was looking at the srt-8 a while ago, but the fuel costs and the tax put me off. Then I looked at the diesel - nice enough when considering the initial cost. But then I veered off and bought an 3.0 D4-D 06 hi-lux. Canopy on the back, loads of space. Cheap tax and reasonable on fuel for a big car. Good residuals too. Wash the back out with a hose when the dogs are messy.

If you really need a family car get a VW\SEAT or an Audi, parts are good they are almost the same and the diesel version aint too bad perforrmance wise and reliable when looked after

Agreed,most VAG offerings are poor
My friend bought a brand new Silver 3.0 CRD startech. It was on special offer at a main dealers for £20k..
Superb value..I quite like them... Lot of car for the money.

Thats what happened with one like that I saw in las Vegas once. Mind you the bloke on the running board with a shooter probably had an effect.

300 C is typically american; big, vulgar, over the top and lackluster!
On this exceptionally rare occasion though the chrysler has done something no other car has done, unite the opion of Matteeboy with that of mine!

Saw one at poppy time with what looked like a wreath of poppies on the front!
Skoda vRS estate. One part of the VW/Audi set up that does things really well, definitely not mainstream but look great
I'd have one tomorrow but can't afford a Skoda nowadays!!

I had a Chrysler 300 as a hire car in the States a few years ago. It was the 5.7 Hemi engined one so could move a bit. I was also impressed by the fuel economy as it got 20mpg. Bear in mind that a US gallon is smaller than an imperial gallon and it works out at 24mpg.
BUT - build quality was shockingly bad. Your kids could play the "What's going to fall off/break today" guessing game. European versions may be set up differently but there was absolutely no sensation that the steering wheel was in any way connected to the front wheels. Rear visibility in the saloon was "interesting" so I hate to imagine the blind spots that the estate must have.
It was great as a hire car experience, but I wouldn't have one here if I was paying my own money.
