Why dont you just reconnect the J1 resistor and run the std map? Will save a lot of farting about buying new ECU's etc...

Not as simple as that Matt 'if' it is a Mines. You need a whole new board really.

I've got some first-hand experience of Jap replacement ECU's. My engine let go in the RA, engine was replaced and rolling roaded with the original ECU just to see what was happening.... detting before it even came on boost.

I've also come from the Legacy world and know of several people who have run the likes of Mines, Prova and other JAP ECUs that have destroyed the engine. But yes, some are still going.

They're not designed for our fuel, simple as.

The cover been off and checked and has chip in there.car has run on this ecu for 5 years so if they are that bad an ecu why hasn't it gone bang?

A chip not the same as a Mines ECU. If it is just chipped then the J1 link will be cut.

Who says chips are, so bad??

it is a real mines ecu and has been checked by enginetuner as my local tuner and does all the work on my cars for past 15 years so think he knows what he is on about...

I'm sure enginetuner will have some spare ecu's floating about you could buy.

got a standard z4 on the way now.just the stupid hks dump valve to replace and back to standard.
