Obviously some of the SN parents should learn to take it on the chin rather than up the doot.

Mr Lock, go and sit on the naughty step! It never ceases to amaze me how people can completely miss the point of a thread, and turn it a jab fest at the OP!

Agree 100% with you, DL. If only it was a case of keeping their children stimulated and showing/teaching them new things, but it isnt. It is a blatant 'look how great I am' exercise. The only person/people they need to be proving themselves to, is their child!!

I also know what you mean about people watching. I am always doing it. It can be very entertaining, but it can also be very sobering, highlighting the positives and negatives of human life

Appreciated L-G,

I think I know were DL is coming from. It reminds me back in the '80's and early '90's when people had their first mobile phone, you know the type..."YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT I'M ON THE TRAIN.............YEAH! YEAH! RIGHT NOW MAKING MY WAY INTO THE BIG SMOKE....", same thing when bluetooth headsets came out too walking and talking loud with that self important strut.

But with children, and I have a feeling that this particular parent is a first time parent with their first child and obviously very proud of her child, and that their child is "sooo advanced" and the most beautiful baby in the world. On the other hand, from a non-parent POV, had this mother been a really fit "MILF" I don't think any of you would be complaining!!

When did it become abnormal for parents to want to care for their children?

I read to my children pretty much everywhere we go, not because I am trying to turn them into child genius', but simply because it's nice, they like it and it stops them misbehaving.
I personally would much rather this than have a little monster running riot whilst trying to eat etc. I dont blame the kids for running around afte all , its what kids do, rather the inconsiderate feejits that are the parents.
Have a gold star for effort.
