I saw an old Top Gear on Dave with Clarkson driving the GTR whilst racing the other two on a bullet train. He said that each gearbox is tuned to each individual car and that one GTR gearbox wouldn't work in another one? Whether that's true or not?
Awesome cars, very jealous. I've promised myself that if my business keeps on growing at the rate it is at the moment I will have one in the next 2 years. It'll have to be a used one, unfortunately that'll mean the 2009 cars will be too old (or too high mileage more my liking) so I'll aim for the higher powered 2011 ones which I bet will be out of my £30-£35k price range.

The gearboxes are readily interchangeable. The gearbox ECUs have data that is stored that would ideally be preserved, but no ill effects appear to occur if gearboxes are swapped without this.

Hahaaa, no, but I believe he will be at the game!
History - had the car mapped when it was standard at SRR and it made 499.5bhp - very happy.
Valet Magic also fitted a ypipe, some K&N panel filters and fitted a Cobbs. I was not happy with the results of the "off-the-shelf" maps, then I found out that RyanG was doing EcuTek mapping. Since I had him map a supra of mine in the past, I jumped at the opportunity to get him mapping my GTR.
Today - Just back from getting this done and VERY happy with the results!! Dyno'd at SRR..........

I've come to the Isle of Man to visit family and watch a couple of races. Had a few laps over the mountain circuit which is now one way with no speed limit all week .
Some of the bikes have been amazed at the speed of the GTR and it's cornering ability and lost count of the number of people taking pictures/videos of it.
So I thought I'd take a few of my own.
Caught the ferry along with a few bikes
These were taken at Maughold head about a mile from my parents house.
My crouching position looks safe from this angle
View to my rear
Vid of a lap over the mountain road this morning, yes it's one way during the TT fortnight before any one asks

I took a couple of Dutch lads for a ride on Sunday who are staying bed and breakfast at my cousins. One has just sold his road bike to buy a race bike, he was amazed at the speed and cornering abilty, said he has a new found respect for the GTR and that cars can be fun .

Lol
The roads look smooth, but the speeds you were achieving they suddenly appear quite bumpy. Must have been quite a feeling to drive such a machine unlimited on roads like that?

The road is fairly bad I had the suspension in normal not race mode to help with the bumps. The camber was pulling the car around a fair amount too, I didn't look at the speedo but changed up in to 6th which would be about 160-165mph.

Nice vid Anders. You car doesn't sound anything like the GTR I test drove a year or so back. The one I drove (stock) didn't seem to have an engine note, all I could hear were induction noises.
Does yours have a full aftermarket exhaust? It sounds very nice when gunning it.

I need to record with the mic turned down slightly next time, it sounds a bit distorted on the vid.

Forgot to mention, I had to run in low boost because they don't have V-power any more - only 97RON although they recon it's closer to 98.
So the above was 1BAR boost, down from the usual 1.25BAR which my mapper recommended to play safe
