STI RA Ltd FTW - all the fun and gearing of an RA but with all the 'leccy toys (but no rear wiper or light in the boot (how much can a boot light weigh for gods sake )).
It is worth trying to speak to Gary - he may well surprise you with a cheap quote!!

0-60 in 20 secs would be good at the moment. Bloody cars not holding boost again. Need to get it on the Rolling Road but need to find a time so I can do it and keep an eye whats being done to it.

Personally, i don't think the imprezas parts replacements are expensive at all, there are so many about, parts are cheap. The engine, if it goes, can be a simple decent replacement for £1k, or a full on forged rebuild for as much as the wallet allows. I've owned 2 imprezas, over 5 years, and the only things to fail, apart from both engines(running too much boost on standard internals, no worry now though, thanks Api!), is a gearbox(again, too much power), and a power steering pump, thats it. A good standard Sti, should be fairly reliable, if it's looked after. We also own a Forester s-tb, standard, same engine, same power, and the only thing to have to change is a set of tyres.
The problem is the fuel, at the pump prices now, it's getting expensive to run the Forester, and may trade for a diesel, the RA will always be with me, but i only do 2-3k a year i it.
To put it into perspective, 100miles would cost £28 on v-power.
