doubt any of this will affect us tbh, how long have computer MOT's been in place and wonder how many peoples emissions are still over 3% CO and hydrocarbon of over 200ppcm

also having a import seems to throw error in the situation so a few of us jap lads will be OK i hope as i cant be arsed to refit a cat to my car now let alone the other stuff ive taken out of it

They are trying that one on with Motorbikes as well, there were protest rides going on last week. The one I went to had 700 turn up!

see motorbikes with loud exhausts,,,,, and maybe im just getting old but they REALLY are anoying at 7am when im not at work ( usually im already driving to work by then so dont bother me) they are REAL high pitch and loud and tbh,,, worse than my impreza when they are idleing when cold and its not going to be too hard to fit a valve to quieten it down like cars have had fitted just so they can idle a little lower

im just glad that most of this new legislation stuff comming in is all based on regulation 102 for vehicles made after 2001 and tweeking them for cars after 1994 and early imports seem to be getting off a little bit lighter again but thats just cause it benifits me


diesels are the cars about to be taken into the cleaners the next few years as the petrol cars have cleaned up alot in the last 15 years compared to diesels

i agree, mot testers are not allow to remove anything, bar carpet if suspect corrosion aropund, suspenion or braking support areas.

wheels cannot come off, carpets cannot be removed to look at ecu's never mind opening an ecu to see if it has a piggyback chip ect.

it means nothing really - mot testers cannot actually be expected to knoe everysingle ecu from every single manufacturer, and all ther variants.

its abit of bull imo

It's going to be upto the MOT tester and how they 'intepretate' it, that's going to be the danger.
