Are scoobies still fast or is it my car?

When I was younger I admit, I was a bit stupid and was easily baited. But I would never 'race' above 100mph. If the other car wanted to go faster then good for them.
Racing to 130mph on the public roads is absolutely stupid. The driver obviously has no regard for other road users.

Ive kept the limiter on mine as i don't fancy a ban!!
Also i let people acting like idiots, pass me, knowing that i have a better car and that i would probably live longer than them!!

So if it is a blind bend, and you're doing 80, how will you stop should there be a kid, tractor etc around that blind bend? I think oncoming traffic and not pulling out will be the least of your worries if you crash into some innocent.

Christ sake the guy has had afew silly moments in his motor don't tell me that non of u haven't been involved in some kind of race on a public road No matter how small or short the impreza was made to race and I think I'm fairly certain 99.9% of your cars are not standard and have never seen a track so y tune them cos u like an improved exhaust note what a load of ****e. The lad posted this thread in general technical possibilly cos he thought his scooby may of had some issues.
I've have noticed sn are surveying how to make the site better maybe a suggestion of a new section for keyboard warriors or I have never done nothing illegal in my life and my ****e smells sweeter then most could be added

Am sure for a few it is banter but the majority it's there own little stamp on the world. This is why alot of smaller forums/clubs are growing rapidly cos most are fed up with it. There's very little appeal left when u can't post anything without it been shot to **** 100s of times and not better half way to the answers u need

^^^^ totally agree-it puts people off posting in the first place which is not good for any forum.
To the op, I'm sure that the s3 would handle better than a scoob and I think it's more about centers of gravity and wheelbases etc than what you do to your car.
In addition to what others have said, its tt week on the Iom so our twisty mountain road is one way only with no speed limits

There's two sides to this. One is that people want to visit a forum for advice and a bit of banter. Not to be sneered at, or lectured. The other side is that it's a bit daft posting what the OP posted. It wasn't exactly the most well thought out post in so much that he basically admitted driving like a bit of a lunatic which is different to admitting to stretching the car's legs

One problem is that many scooby owners/ex scooby owners now have kids, which puts a very different perspective on life.
One thing that just does not sit right with parents, is idiots driving stupid speeds on the public road, without a care in the world.
What did the OP expect by coming onto a forum and admitting to driving like this? What do you expect when trying to corner at 80mph+ on ****ty UK road and road tyres? Your car is going to squirm, whatever you do to it. Wake up, understand that there are some faster cars and drivers out there and you don't get any prizes for winning a road race, but **** me, are there consequences if you get it wrong and not just for you. The road is not just yours. You share it with 30million other motorists.

It comes across to me that the majority of those sticking up for the o.p. are both relative newbies who cant spell nor use the english language. It says an awful lot about thetype of person buying the Subaru marque now - ie brainless illiterate fecktards in an increasing majority

I don't think there was any warrior talk, but as said the lad made a error in judgement in that he allowed himself to get caught in the moment, and yes we have all done it.
The good thing is he saw sense and stopped racing.
The bad thing is that he is doing it according to his words every couple of days.
Now it's one thing to "have a play" under the right circumstances but when the red mist decends it becomes Very dangerous for all concerned.
And sometimes we all need a wake up call..
And if you read some of his posts he could maybe do well to wind his neck in a bit as they say, and i don't mean that to be insulting just a bit of advice for life.
I'm not his dad but i am a farther and i wouldn't want my lad getting involved in this sort of stuff on a regular basis.
I think the only thing i said that could possibly be misunderstood was calling him a naughty little boy, which was intended as banter.
On the whole i think my posts were constructive and trying to point him in the right direction, whilst letting him know i did not approve of that kind of behaviour on Public roads with all the variables that exist out there.
Bottom line.
Save the bumper to bumper racing for the track..
