Quote " Why? Tell me for what reason you would choose a WRX over a STI ?
Ok so WRX's are cheaper to insure, cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain (cheaper parts)

There you go thats why I want an wrx over an sti !!! suits me and for my budget off a max off 5k I would struggle to get a decent blobeye sti
yep appreciatte what you are saying but as I say for my personal circumstances the wrx more than suits my requirments but in saying that if a niceblob sti comes up at a good price will certainly not rule it out !!!!

Should you decide to go down the modification route with a WRX you'll kick yourself for not buying an STI to start with, however if you intend on keeping the car standard go with the WRX if it suits your needs. Rob ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Cant go wrong with this your already looking at https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...2-jdm-sti.html
Not everyone colour choice, but still a nice example WRX https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...-f-tuning.html
Not sure of any history on this car or the owner, but https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...-f-tuning.html
Nice example sold for less than 4750 https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...must-sell.html
Dont know if this is still for sale, but its a JDM without brembos https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...1k-5200-a.html

You state that a WRX suits all your needs as they are cheaper to insure, buy, run etc etc but you then say you would buy an STI if one came up cheap.
If a WRX is more than enough for you why even consider an STI.
Makes me chuckle when WRX owners and soon to be owners come on here defending their car by saying it meets all their needs, when in reality, if their budget was bigger they would buy an STI.
From personal experience, you should buy the very best car that your budget can stretch to. If that means buying a slightly older STI then so be it.
That's my opinion anyway.
I await the verbal beating from WRX owners throughout SN.

Youv`e got me baffled now mate !! said all allong that I wanted a wrx and yet a lot constantly take time to reply saying go for an sti / why not an sti, I give my reasons ie. extra inital cost, increaded insurance etc but state that should one come up at a decent price will possibly take your advice and at least look at it, now you say "" if an wrx is more than enough for you why even consider it ""
kinda makes me chuckle that folk should somehow worry about whos got what / or who buys what !!!
again thou appreciatte your own and off course all the others guys advice,.

Jono, I think what is being said is basically If you can afford an STI buy one, If you cant but can afford to save up a bit more then wait and buy and STI. If your happy with a WRX then go and buy one, but as said many times over, although WRX's are great cars the STI far more superior for the reasons already mentioned ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Good luck with the viewing/purchase, and the original question is regarding regarding the eBay link, then I wouldnt pay that personally without authenticating the work carried out on the engine.
As for people wanting to help you or care about what you buy, the scoobynet forum is one happy little family, and there are plenty folk on here willing to help you out no matter what. The amount of free advice, cheap products and hands on ive had off here is worth its wait in gold. There are of course some muppets, but thats the same with almost all forums.
Thats my last comment as this is going round in circles.
