Anybody tried this chip???

I used to have an eclipse chip in mine and and the only thing it did'nt do was control boost but was ok with a manual controller, the only downside to this was that i had boost creep in higher gears. So i then changed to a major sarcasm chip and that gave excellent results and it controlled boost electronically using all the factory equipment so no need for a manual boost controller and no more boost creep. Moving forward and in search of a little extra i got hold of a genuine v2 sti ra engine and 7k ecu running with a polarperformance sti ra chip which is now fitted into my car and the performance is even better and it holds boost @ 17psi. Either way there are gains to be had from the three chips i have mentioned but there is definately differences in what is programmed onto them and it is noticeable, the main one being that the eclipse chips obviously have problems with 'boost duty' control because they require the need for a manual controller.
How well did they perform on the rollers:
1. Eclipse chip - 270bhp/230ftlb. afr spot on but boost creep'd and fuel cuts .
2. Major sarcasm chip - 295bhp/251ftlb. everything spot bollock .
3. Polarperformance chip - 307bhp/259ftlb. everything spot bollock .

That's a good comparison there rogos, it's rare to see such back to back tests with figures to back it up! Although our chip came out on the bottom, it's nice to see that ALL 3 were an IMPROVEMENT and like I've been keep saying, all 3 were completely SAFE in terms of AFR's
Maybe some of our more argumentative friends will finally accept that chipping an ECU is the right thing to do!
Obviously I'll be contacting the programmer of our chips to see if we can work out a solution to the apparent boost control issue.

Thanks rogos. I guess it also puts to bed the theory that we are all copying each others software too, as clearly the ones you tried are all different (although your polar chip was in a better spec engine so might not have given such extra bhp with your old engine)
Im sure with a bit more investigation we will get to the bottom of this problem with the boost.

<< Not remapped, not chipped standard, DET free ecu.
Oh and early imports don't need 100 RON fuel, it wasn't available in Japan back then.

Hi guys. I just saw this thread about our chips and thought Id throw in some info...
The software in the chip is based on Prodrive maps and is tuned for a car running a TD05 Turbo, Decat exhauaust & pannel filter, using UK fuel. So if your car is to that spec you will see the best gains. Obviously there are many different varients & specs, however you will still see an improvement with the chip fitted. It also allows you to manually adjust the boost higher without hitting fuel cut.
The only issue we hear about is sometimes Z4 ECU's dont like the chip. When we have fitted them here in the workshop they work fine, but we have had a few customers who have fitted it themselves who have reported some running issues.
We do offer a complete 100% satisfaction guarentee with them, so if you are not satisfied you can return he chip for a full refund!
To date we have sold over 500 chips, and only had around 5 or 6 issues, all with Z4 ECU's.

Bl@@dy IPhone stalled half way through sending it so I thought it hadn't worked!
Westy, I dont know the torque figures off the top of my head so I wont guess, I'll see if I can dig out any power graphs when I get into work tomorrow.
The price, including postage is £51.98.
You can find more info here. Theres also some genuine feedback there from a recent happy customer.
