1. An extended warranty will be in place which equals no bills
2. When i do sell it will be to buy another
3. You find me a decent 3yr old hse for 20k and i'll buy it

sorry can't at the moment as i'm out of the country, and the trade.
No doubt you'll have the answer in 6 months and a day as the repair bills start rolling in
Either that or you could sell it for a third of what you paid for it
See if tdw is interested, he seems keen

Issues with mine, MY08 with 20k on clock.
Knocking front suspension which is common (fixed under warranty)
Squealing electronic parking brake (fixed under warranty)
Sister has an MY09 and done 25k with no issues at all.
I know they are not perfect but what car is these days.
Both are V6 2.7 diesels so can't can't comment on the V8.
Nik.

Nobody got any actual relevent information about issues, potential problems etc. Whether people think the 'image' is good or not isnt really relevent in comparison to questions relating to general issues, faults and longevity to live with.
For thr service manager - can you expand on what issues you commonly see and whether its specific to individual models, engines or is it across the whole range?

We have been running one as a company car for nearly 5 years now. 2.7 HSE on a 56 plate. No real issues atall, one or two electrical glitches with the central locking and a knocking suspension which was done under warranty (as was my scoob!). All it had was the normal brake pads, needed discs too as they can be heavy on them, tyres etc. I have found that if you find a good local mechanic who uses genuine LR parts you can also avoid the excessive bills to. Last service with brakes LR wanted over £1200. It was done for £750 including brakes. And for me, having driven most other 4x4's, they are the best drive by a mile, only thing better is a 'real' range rover.
Hope that helps.

Tried one for several days after I had bought my 2007 4.8 X5 .
Apart from external look, EVERY other aspect of the RRS was hugely inferior to the BMW.
Possibly the 2010 model has improved , I am unable to comment on that.
Pity as I think they are a great looking car.
