I don't see how that would work,if I want bacon and sausage then I will have bacon and sausage from the butchers made from meat. I won't suddenly think 'lets go to the supermarket and buy some frozen krap that is pretending to be what I want'

I think it is done so when the veggie freeks decide to invite some of their normal meat-eating friends round they can force false lumps of chemical on them in the vain hope their friends think they have shed the terrible disability that is vegitarianism.

If I go to a veggie restaurant then I will eat veggie food, I wouldn't go in and expect bacon and sausages. It's as bad as going to the curry house for chicken and chips

Think they also used to use factory farmed eggs to make Quorn until quite recently, so all these chop dodging do-gooders were actually funding factory chicken farming

Mycoprotein is a fungus http://www.mycoprotein.org/what_is_m...ein/index.html

I think the ad works more like this: Based on the thought process on a targeted shallow thinking audience who thinks they are too heavy/fat and want/need to diet:

"Ooo, by eating quorn instead of meat, I'll lose all my excess weight and be a super thin super model, all my problems will disappear, I can pose for page three, win x-factor, and potentially be the next prime minister".

Ok, I may have exaggerated that a little

I think Diet Coke got into trouble many years ago for similar adverts implying their products would make someone lose weight (which is why they are now nonsensical bimbo rubbish instead).
