Are you having a one on one course or splitting it with another trainee?
You'll find it helps to have a break from driving and watch someone else as you pick up on their mistakes and think what you would have done different.

But as stated, mirrors, mirrors, mirrors, blind spot, mirrors, mirrors, and take your time.

Got class one coach although you can only use one on your licence at a time motorbike track vehicle blah blah
Main things to remember is observation always looking well ahead and mirrors mirrors and mirrors
Remember your length and take that into account when cornering especially .relax take your time and you will be fine wait till you move on to one that bends lol

Yep it's one to one training with 4 hrs driving a day. Hopefully the gear box is 1-6 gears and I get a nice instructor not some moody one!

I don't think you can do a test anymore with an "easy" gearbox, but I may be wrong. I'm sure that you'll either have a knock box or one with a splitter so the examiner knows you can use different kinds of transmissions.

I did the minibus test for work, and the examiner calmly pointed out where he was hit whilst on test by a speeding petrol tanker...

The three rear-most rows of seats were destroyed and he was shunted 150 yards through the red light and past the next set of lights.

When the traffic cop arrived he went to the ambulance to ask how he was, and said "What's all the fuss about ?" The examiner said go look at the damage. Copper went pale when he saw it.

It turned out some muppet rang the petrol tanker driver and said "Get back quick your Dad's had a heart attack...."

My only incident so far was a guy test driving a brand new Golf rolled backwards at the lights into the front of my one day old minibus....

Good luck, and in my experience women do better than men, because they are able to listen to instructions, whereas men...

Agree with mike h sit in with another learner driver and you will learn a lot, I had a few problems with the gears changing from high range to low. Dont forget to check near side mirror untill completely clear when overtaking cyclists, and offside mirror when moving off.

I passed my class two last October and class one in December, as stated observation is very important, check over your right shoulder before you pull off every time, I had an eight speed H box with a switch for low and high, felt weird to start with but became smooth before long, good luck you'll be fine, it's easier than I was expecting, just take your time and drive steady

P.S. 22 you say?? If that's your age and not your weight your more than welcome for a ride along to see how it should be done I thnk I know some that can do it how it should be done

They come on either, depends what truck you have.
They can be confusing at first but just take your time and think about what you're doing.

We have a couple of lady bus drivers down here on the double decker buses. They drive very well and cope with the narrow roads and the sometimes irritating holiday traffic.

I think that if you listen to the instructors and do what they say you will pass easily.

Passing isnt easy. Id say be prepared to fail and budget for a re-take. The pass percentage for vocational licences is far lower than for car licences. I failed my first test, as did many other class C holders.

Passed my car, class 2 and coach licences first time, I will see how I do when it comes to my class 1 in a month or so.
Now I`ve said that I`m gonna fail miserably lol.

It was with class 2 ( I used the same one for class 1, wagon n drag ) to be fair the switch was not used much as with no weight on you only needed it in 4th to pull off then it was switch to higher gears then just use 5th to 8th like a regular 4 speed box, was strange at first but before long its done without thinking

I've paid for the pass protection thing which they recommended. Hopefully I won't need it.

Pull off in 1st and you may get to 1mph if you driving 4 over 4.
These gears aren't like cars, you'll understand once you get in that seat!

don't the big distribution centre's such as tesco, asda, sainsburys etc run their own certification tests

and without one, your HGV licence is next to usless, as you will not be able to deliver to any decent organisation
