I personally would like them killed, be them wanting to steal my car or take my Bic pen. Thieving c*nt scum deserve no life in this planet, and I don't give a toss about why they got into that position in the first place.
Kill them.
And breathe.

Never read such nonsense in my life. Harping on about what our grandfathers fought for etc. If my family was threatened I like anybody else would lay down my life to protect them.
But for a car or money? You must be joking. I wouldn't even risk a bruised lip thanks.
Does that mean I don't have a heart as somebody put it? No.
I leave all the car keys down stairs where they can be easily found, not visible from the letterbox but easily found.
In this way I'm protecting my family. The alternative would be the scum bags come upstairs and threaten my wife and kids. I 'might' be able to stick up for myself but what are my wife and kids meant to do??
In my opinion anybody who takes their car keys into their bedroom with them is irresponsible and exposing their family to danger.
My grandad and dad taught me to stick up for myself and always protect my family. But protecting my family can mean using my head and not just trying to give it a large one.

I just don't see things the same as you
Nonsense you say
we are in free society because of their sacrifices
Do you think what is happening around us today is what they envisioned
I keep my keys in akeysafe in my room so I am obviously an idiot then
So be it
But I would rather die than have any harm come to my kids
And a parent protecting their young is 100 times more dangerous than few scumbags who think they can do as they please because they are protected by the ****e laws in this country

Great isn't it we are now faced with having to accept thieves breaking into our homes (often when we are there) and demanding the keys with threats of violence. The thieves know that most people will have to hand over the keys without any resistance to protect themselves and their families.
We have been told before that if you leave anything valuable on view in your car and it gets broken into, its your fault. I suppose now the police will say that its our fault for having a nice car parked outside our own house.

Advising owners that their cars fit the criteria of those being targeted is one thing, but criticizing owners is something else. I really feel for you...

Sorry fella but I don't really understand you. If you feel you'd rather have scums coming upstairs to confront you whilst in bed with your wife and the kids are asleep that is up to you. If you feel that in some way you are honouring the memory of your grandfather by engaging in hand to hand combat over a piece of metal in front of your small kids and terrified wife then again that is your choice. Personally I couldn't disagree more.

What a load of bollocks.
It's OK if youre brain dead, six foot plus tall and a trained SAS soldier. If like me you the wrong side of 60, not 100% well and around 5 foot and a bit they can have the car.
What chance would I have?

What's wrong with some of you!!!
I would never let someone walk out of my house without a fight on principle
Breaking into my house is a green card to waive any rights IMO if I can and am able I would stick a sharp object throughout their fckin windpipe.
Where did this roll over and take it attitude come on men my grandad didn't die in ww2 so the future generations can carry on like this

I'm female, 5ft 4.
A gang broke into my house whilst I was asleep and took my car keys.
What do you suggest I should have done?

So the Police have criticized you for having a nice car?...Where was this and I presume you will be making a complaint? I certainly would if police told me it was my fault for having a nice car.

The police know they are unable to protect people from these scumbags so their answer is to advise not to show these items in public, it’s easy to hide a watch or a phone but where the hell do you hide your car?
It seems that if you want nice things nowadays we the public are left with a stark choice of having to defend ourselves or just hand over the goods when someone demands it.

No the police haven’t criticized me for having a nice car, nice watch or expensive phone for that matter, but they do say that to openly display any of these items in public is somehow inviting crime.

You've been given crime prevention advice then?

Lydia I am sorry that happened to you but I can't say what you should have done
My opinion is from a mans point not a woman's
To the other guys
I am not bothered about my car it isn't the issue
The issue with me is simply someone entering my house without invitation. Period
I am doing what I am genetically programmed to do defending my loved ones
As I said earlier
Where do they stop , it may not just be the car
It doesn't matter whether win or lose I will have tried and that is important to me and my family.
Gordon highlanders motto is bydand
Stand and fight in celtic
I am a highlander and was brought up this way
So I will not bow down to something or someone who is morally in the wrong
My integrity is important to me

An improvement in protection against thieving ***** like them would be to give them a really heavy sentence when caught in a prison where they get no privileges and have to do hard manual labour all day.

Most get rtu'd
Those that pass do so because of their mental capability not how big they are
That was a rude and ignorant thing to say imo

Where your children are asleep?
What makes you think they would know which room is yours?
So how would your kids cope with being woken by masked armed men in the middle of the night while you are fast asleep?
No matter how much "heart" you have, do you think you would be allowed to make any attempt to fight back or do you think you would be woken with a knife to you, demanding the keys?
How do you think your Wife would feel after such an ordeal?
Do you really think a group of thieves, whether professional or crack-addicts are not prepared to use the weapons they have?
A lot of questions i know, and could you think of them all as you awake from a deep sleep with about 5 seconds to react?
You say you would do anything to prevent any harm coming to your kids, but by taking this cavalier attitude and locking your keys up in your bedroom you could potentially be making a situation worse for them.
All hypothetical of course, and if i woke to intruders, alarm would sound instantly I would be going straight for my shotgun but i wouldn't keep my keys upstairs to invite them up where my children are sleeping.

I think people should improve their home security before anything else. I seriously doubt anyone would get into my house without being heard. Home security is the first line of defence IMO.....followed by a rather large and rather sharp Bowie knife.

Intruders will be met by an extreemly p1ssed off me waving a rather large weapon, the sight of which should do the trick, if not at least one of them will be minus a limb.
And yes i am a warrior, but not on the keyboard.
Enter my home with the intention of doing harm to me or mine and we can discuss the wrights and wrongs of it in court.
I know it won't be a popular opinion, but i as long as i am able i will defend myself.
I leave the keys downstairs on the kitchen table, don't care about the cars and the stuff in my house they would do better knocking on the door and asking for them it's just stuff at the end of the day.
but me and mine is something different, and once inside i don't know what their intentions are and i won't be asking any questions.
They left any rights outside on the pavement.
