As always things move on, if the sleved/pinned 2.5's work reliably and consistantly, it would appear that the higher price for the 2.35L is not justified?

This is not a firm conclusion, just a thought?

I have a very easy to drive 440 bhp 2.0 V7 STi on OE internals ( I have owned the car from new). Looking at a 2.1 for rebuild to take me to a nice 500 bhp. If you search my threads I don't do disconnect cam/crank pickup to crank the engine. Just pre-fill the filter, I use a flush oil (diesel engine oil as they are high detergent) every other filter change told not a good idea. But at 104,000 genuine miles I am very happy.

Fred W has a 2.35 in his hawkeye, running c540hp. Absolutely beautiful build / quality albeit cost mega bucks to get there
