Theres no shame in admitting that theres a possibility that you could benefit from driver training, even the likes of lewis hamilton still have regular coaching sessions.

I presume you have decent brakes and the car was set up properly, as in corner weighted geo, good suspension ect.

As well as enjoying pulling your chain, on account of how you bite so easily,

I am finding it difficult to see how with those nice round figures of 400/400 you struggle to leave a car that weighs almost the same and has 200bhp less.

On a very tight twisty road one of these will keep up, they do handle well and the brakes are excellent, no matter what power your car has you can only go around a bend so fast.

However, once the road straightened out a bit, in a 400BHP classic, It really should be game over.

The 0-60 on my wrx hawkeye is ment to be 5.9 and it's 6.9 on a Clio 197?

Nice looking car mate, just out of curiosity, how do you rate it against your WRX, when it was standard?

In real life situation assuming both drivers perform the perfect launch, that second would equate to little more than a car length, i know the 0 to 100 times are here somewhere, and unless there is 5 seconds in it at 100 the wrx will be going nowhere, add to that traffic ect, and i think the clio will be stuck to it like glue.

I have a wrx blob ppp and have driven and been a passenger with someone that knows how to get the best out of the clio 197 which is lightly modded (extra 15/20 bhp) and i'm pretty sure there would be bugger all in it, and thats with ppp, so not convinced a newage wrx would do too well, especially on a twisty B road.

But in my 320 bhp sti type r he got dusted, and with 400/400 i'd be on a different planet

power wise the wrx was never std as it had a "power chips" upgrade from new, I estimate circa 250bhp, handling wise, in the twistys the scoob would have its **** handed to it by the clio, I've taken it on a mid Wales run and had no trouble keeping pace with a classic jdm wrx driven by an above average driver who's competed in sprints ect, very high speed handling can be a little unpredictable/nervous, the 2ltr vvt pulls very strongly and isn't gutless low down like the 172/182, despite 6spd box its quite low geared and at 140mph its almost at the rev limit, its quick enough and flyes through the gears but obviously no mach for a 400/400 impreza on more open roads.
