The gearbox lock system is very secure, based on all the reports.

The best system i have come up with i fitted to my rally car a few years ago, dead simple but needed a new section of wiring loom to be spliced in.

It basically junked all the original ignition electrics, i wired it so two switches on the dash which used to control a fog light and a heated rear window had to be pushed together at the same time as turning the key. It totally confused some scum who had a go at knicking it, they pushed the car 150 yards from my house and ended up ripping half the dash out, but still couldn't knick it, saved me a fortune.

I thought the idea of a baby moniotor was genious, cheap but effective.

Nick

The baby alarm is a truly wonderful idea.

Hidden in the glovebox, you here them break in... call the police and if you are very lucky they arrive before your car leaves

Great idea

Isolator switch (hidden of course) on the fuel pump.

Or just take the fuse out when you leave the car...

I agree the baby alarm could work quite well.

An isolator switch is always a brilliant way of beating car thieves. Do you know of any companies who will fit such a swtich where you specify? Would this invalidate the warranty?

A decent wheel clamp would be a good deterrent but is too inconvienient.

Any competent & trusted auto-electrician should be able to do the job.

Not sure about warranty - though I would expect not.

bad news mate every second day now some one seems to be getting there car stolen its getting out of hand.

i have a tracker and as far as im aware there not easy to find, they could be fitted any where in the car and dont you have more than 1 sensor.

i have now bought a disclock for when i go to away matches in football as it seems most crime is up north or in the midlands

On the security side, when my car arrives in March/April, I am seriously considering having a gearbox lock fitted which locks the car in reverse, and would welcome any comments/suggestions relating to their effectiveness (and sources for fitting in the Birmingham/Worcester area).
Not a happy story ...sorry to hear what happend ...i think it's something we all worry about ...

Interactive tracker is a 100% you can phone your car up and turn it off, and put brakes on ...

Or u can go the nasty way ...but it illegal ... i know some 1 that is thinking of importing some ... they are a steering wheel locks ... but act like stun gun ... give u a wallop of 50000 voults made by taser... not illegal to sell them ...but it is illegal too use them ...
