Loads of brilliant stories in the annals of Scoobynet, but only up until about 2007. Heyday 2004 in my opinion. Moles still my personal favourite. Basal_lobe the nastiest of the lot. NACRO the most divisive. Pity it had to end but people with agendas, etc etc
Anyone remember Audilover/LordoftheRings/LOTR? One of the biggest wind-up merchants I've ever wittnessed on this board, on a par with Mycroft, with claims of his inside sources in the VW Group, his love for Audi's was unnatural. His spats with some forum members, including myself were epic, so much so he's been wiped off this board completely! You may see traces of his presence where he as been quoted.
Who was the dude who typed in text speak, also he managed to post his comments with an accent which I didn't think was possible! Could never understand what he was writing as a result.
Hey Fat Boy - are you the 'Fat Boy' that used to be the dogs danglies on the Unreal Tournament nights - I can remember you fragging me to bits everytime I was unlucky enough to cross your path - LOL
I'm afraid not Dr H - there must be an impostor out there, but, do not fret, I will hunt him down, kill him, and eat his brains to make me stronger.
The clown who used to post in phonetic Glasgow dialect drivel was mentioned above - Moses- it was like reading a Z movie Trainspotting script
The Pro Pro Pro thread tickled me too as well as of course the classic Norman D Landing / The Cows...
June 2000 for me. Took delivery of a spanking new DBM MY2000 in Mar 00 after a 4 month wait. IIRC the waiting times were just starting to get a bit more reasonable at that time.
Can't remember why I hadn't joined before that though, as I certainly remember finding SN very useful.

Was it Moses?
I can't exactly remember if Moses typed in text speak, but he was able to make his typo in Scottish accent. I thought he was a decent guy. Not that I ever understood him properly but I remember having a fun conversation with him here about an actor while someone stuck their ore in to call him allsorts I didn't understand what was going on, it was all very weird. That was the last I saw him here.
There was some testing through September 1998 and opened to the public in October. I joined on 22 October 1998 and there were 10 or so people ahead of me - I'm sure at some point the statistics also had the sequential number of when you joined.
In the years before Scoobynet, the community was basically a big mailing list with everyone getting emailed every reply to every thread - it was a bit quieter back then and much more technically focussed !
