Lol, i would not worry about how long it takes to put up too much as the price range you are talking about is much of a muchness.

I would also suggest some sort of double skin with good ventilation in the bed room area and make sure that the anchor points are good and sturdy double stitched items so that it can be pitched nice and tight without fear of them ripping.

May be up your budget slightly too as a slightly better one will last for many years, but like i said my current 100 quider has done 5yrs and still going strong.

Most important thing for longevity is make sure its bone dry when you pack it up, if not when you get home hang it out to dry.

Its only for when i spend the odd nights away watching hillclimbs etc,and maybe a night or two with the mrs.

I want one of those self pumping matress thingys aswell,and a sleeping bag.


What can you suggest?

the self inflating mats are warmer and more comfortable imo than the big airbeds depends how heavy/ flexable you are, get at least a 3 season sleeping bag, not down so it can be washed and cotton inners are nicer than nylon/pertex, happy camping.

Thought I'd revive this thread ragher than starting a new one.

I'm looking for a tent which will:

- sleep four adults
- sleep two giant breed dogs
- provide enough room to fight our way in and out of wet suits
- stay dry in Scotland
- Not need replacing in a years time

Any suggestions?

Outwell Vermont L or Montana 6 if budget allows.

Harford L or XL would also be OK. But Montana 6 would always be my choice.
