I have never liked Little Chef. Last time I had to eat there was in 2004 on the way back from Air Tattoo show, on A5 near Shrewsbury, I think. Freezer to fryer unhealthy food for more money than what it should be. Then again, like high fuel prices on high-ish ways, Little Chef will charge a desperate passer-by what they like. Their staff is also very insipid like their food. At least at McDonalds, little spotty kids give you a little smile, even when they mess up your food order. Little chef's little (and big) waiters and waitresses look more exhausted, bored and blank than the customer who has done 500 miles journey with transfixed eyes on the road. I don't know if it is any better now.
