I know a lot of you hate cats, really don't need to hear about that

Any suggestions, recommendation ? people giving kittens away ?
Pimmo not read the complete thread but I am sure someone would have recommeneded a Rescue Centre. Take your pick, it should have all the main stuff done (neutred/spayed), jabbed and chipped.

I have a Bengal and he's a a big gentle lump put is partial to some chicken, pidgeon, baby rabbit, usual small furry thing and even brought a seagull home. He's turning into a softy now but will take cover when the grandchildren show up.

Well I've had some terrible news today. My cat Molly who went off to live with my ex partner (picture on post 73) has died. I only saw her a couple of weeks ago. The vet believes it was a heart attack, she was only 4 give or take a few months.

I was speechless when I found out, and now very upset. Life is cruel sometimes.

Oh my God, I'm so, so sorry! Must be such a shock.

Thank you. It is a real shock as she was so full of life. I remember picking her out as kitten, she had a black furry spider that other kittens wanted to play with. She was fending them off by growling at them

The only saving grace that is giving my ex and I comfort is that she didn't have a prolonged illness, or the pain of being hit by a car. She went quickly at least.

I know some people believe that it's only an animal, but she gave both of us a lot of pleasure.

We have recently found out that our four year old Maine coon as been diagnosed with PKD - Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Were absolutely gutted as she is full of life and has such a fantastic personality. We got her from a breeder who has MCs as show cats she was an expensive kitten. she has denied any PKD in her cats, shame she won't admit it as it is hereditary.
Hopefully she has years to go, but a word of warning to anyone looking for a cat, ask about it and if they don't know or cannot provide proof get it checked by a vet, a saliva swab can be done to determine, better to know than to get a nasty surprise

I know. Some people don't get it, but like any relationship, you only get out of it what you put into it. We love our cat (Rosie) to bits, and she's so funny, she just makes us laugh all the time. I lost a cat to stomach cancer years ago. She was only 5. No age. My late mate's cat died on me from what must have been a massive heart attack, when I was looking after him for a weekend. It was pretty much instant. I couldn't do a thing. They break your heart, but I couldn't be without one.

I'm sorry to hear. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the time she has with you. These types of problems are horrible and could be avoided if only breeders would be more vigilant, or dare I say it, more caring. My best wishes to you all.

I guess we can only take comfort in the fact we give them love and a good life. It's all you can do. You'd drive yourself mad otherwise I think.
