If you've already agreed figures and you really want the car and everything checks out, i would go down, speak with the manager, let him know what the situation is regarding the salesman and see if you can get a couple of hundred quid off or your going to walk away. Win win situation, you either get the car cheaper/freebies thrown in or you walk away which appears to be what you're going to do anyway?
Coming from a classic to a bug to a hawk sti, i can tell you you won't be disappointed with your choice.
