Just watching a report on BBC news, some of the ****witts going to her house need to have a look at themselves. This is a woman who was made famous for living in the gutter. She was the perfect example of how anyone can make it in Music nowadays.
Seriously, get on with life.

Well bugger off most of you lot. Amy was very talented and music needs living on the edge kids to keep it alive.
Of course her demise was on the cards but I was very sorry that she didn't pull her life together and feel for her family at this time.
So you keep to your Cliff Richards and The Monkeys and I'll stay with raw talent like Billy Holiday and Amy.

True enough, but there is far more deserving humans that have done more good in their life than "artists/celebrities" that will have died today as well. Should each one have their own thread or will diana syndrome prevail?

Some camden set *** was on Sky saying some platitude about her boyfriend giving her the pain she used to write with.
Doesn't sit right to me. What 20 year old knows true pain from love?
20 year old would know what the true pain from love is, but he/she may not know what the true love is. Via this equation, one may prove that the pain they feel is not genuine either, then. Even so, they will feel the "real" pain, because it is an emotion that is experienced by their very "self". The little world of "self" is utterly important to 20 year olds, and anything in it including that pain, no matter how superficial it may be. Therefore, they can churn out some quality material. A lot of young ones write poetry on relationships, don't they? That's because- 1: They have plenty of time in their hands to engage their deluded heads into romance, 2: Their hormones are making them go wild to fall for the mirage of love. There are a few more reasons too, but they are mostly interlinked. Once they get their heads together, they forget acting like Wordsworth, and get on with earning their living in the world of reality. In talented Amy's case, she earned her living by being a poet, good on her. She chose to remain deluded on drugs, bad on her. If she had lived longer, she would have done more good songs for her fans, I am sure.

Jesus christ.
When you have impressionable kids searching what drugs she was on, because they want to be like her, then asking their father if they can get some Cocaine (true story, not my kids) you have to ask yourself why she was ever in the media in the first place. The answer to that is because it makes a good story.
Even if you are stupid enough to think her music was any good, that wasn't the reason she was signed to a label. She was signed because she was marketable.
So it sums down to moral values and money. Money will win every time, so it is laughable that anyone bar the immediate family and dealers give a f**k.

News of Amy Winehouse's death travelled with such speed. When I heard I couldn't help but crack up with emotion. She was a real heroin. It's such a blow. She really made a hash of things though. Her life just went to pot. Someone should have kept tabs on her.

And how many have got a Grammy award for their album? Winehouse got five for hers.
Her music wasn't my style at all but she had a unique voice and terrific timing.
Her death was predictable but a great shame nonetheless not least for her family and close friends.

Hard to swallow!
Are you trying to inject some life into this discussion?

Some people use drugs others drink, some leave their mark on the world others don't. At the very least she made a big enough impact for all these comments, good or bad.

Once she started the extreme drug abuse she vanished off the radar (music wise).
So are you saying her album wouldn't have won the awards if she wasn't on the drink/drugs (all be it less than the recent amount she was taking)
Are you telling me i'll become a successfull writer if i get on the smack?
