some rubber can take a few hundred miles to get the releasing compound (used when manufacturing) worn off before decent traction/adhesion.

Also check your pressures are correct

Sounds about right... thanks for all replies.. seems there's nothing to panic about, they're just new and my pressures sound too high.. glad i posted lol

Yeah I'm running 33psi front and 31 back, thats good.

My only complaint with FK492's compared to ZE912's i run before is the Falk's are getting destroyed but that's cause they make me feel so confident I can corner hard as I like.

Interesting as I am looking at getting some 452's or another set of Yokohama Parada's.

I love my current Parada but they are getting a little old and need a new set.

Best tyres I've ever used are either the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 (v-pattern ones) or Uniroyal Rainsport II's. The Uniroyals were fooking excellent and wore a little less than the GSD 3's. Better than any Falken, Toyo, Kumho, Bingbong, Chingchong, Wanki or whatever other tyres I've used on my Scoobs.

Wors tyre? Pirelli P6000's my last scoob had on when bought. Swiftly removed and made into tree swings LOL

LOL....I had Dunlop SportXX on the front and Conti STrac3s on the back..18/225/40's....then got a major puncture in one of the contis and am skint so now runnin Dunlop front/ContST3 back driver and I had a Falken fk452 from my old set that had good tread left so...its back on!
Gotta say that I am still getting great grip all round...I have been chucking her in on different direction corners on the lanes and testing the play and I am still getting a good feel from the tyres....
when I had the Falkens all round, they were great all year..even in snow

I have them. They grip well but are really noisy. Just get a louder exhaust or turn the stereo up.

I think you mean the old GSD3's.
I did and found the Falkens better.

cant vouch for falkens

But i remember onece on my old VXR i had contis all round apart from a brand new NEXAN on pass side, take into mind all contis had at least 6k on em it was like having a bar of wet soap on the wheel

contis are pretty good

I've had 452's (and 451's prior to that) and never had any problems - clearly, not great in snow and ice, but with all 4 wheels done and regularly rotated to keep the balance they've not yet let me down
