Audi TTRS

Alloy, I wasn't going to post again but the car was dyno'd 3 times standard,
355bhp/354bhp and then the 3rd run got a little heat soaked at 346bhp. Post tune 3 x 410. Torque was 350lbft standard, 445lbft tuned. Audi tend to be conservative, quite a few cars now have produced 350+ out of the box.
Boost increased from 1.1-1.2 bar standard to 1.4-1.45bar tuned.
My manual car had a turbo back exhaust on it and gave 10hp more at 420 but I'm sure the advantage of the DSG box will far outweigh that difference. In fact I think it will actually be quicker to 130-140 than what the 490-500 manual cars will be. That is how much of an advantage I think the DSG box has over the manual (I'll prove it ) Auto shifting boxes are the only way to go for pure ***** out performance I think. Even with a flat shift at 0.25secs, the lag of going off throttle doubles this to around 0.5secs per shift. DSG is near enough instant so any gain a manual car has in gear it will lose out of gear during the shift.
I'll post some more logs up in a couple of days, I suspect it will go low 3 and into the 7s to the ton.

A lot of these new 4WD cars with PDK style gearboxes do have very fast standing start times - there was an editorial in evo on it this month. Acceleration is not necessarily a differentiator of super cars.
Once you take out the standing starts - they may still be fast but not quite as stellar. Personally I think that in gear acceration, at the same power level, of a n/a car can surprise a turbo as they go off boost.
Having said that, super cars nowadays supercars are doing a 100mph in sub-7s - Mac, GT2 RS, Turbo S, etc.

I thought FWD & RWD cars are always faster once rolling (with the same bhp) than 4WD cars
My 335i
bhp fly 382
bhp wheels 321
a 410bhp 4WD car would be around 310bhp at wheels (am i right about this??)

My figures are...
410 @ Fly
354 @ wheels
This works out at just less than 14%
As Trout says, it's the auto transmissions and launch control that flatter cars nowadays. Times have moved on, autobox is the only way to maximise acceleration performance.
The MLR 30-130 event is fair game for all cars. 4wd traction advantages gone and more about brute force and aerodynamics
As to vmax, the guy with the biggest horse power wins, bhp always wins (eventually)
Last lot of MLR results here....(The TT that run was a manual btw, auto should be quite a bit quicker than that)
Just look at how shocking the times are from the 2 x 400bhp Mk2 Focus RS's, 30-130, should be good for FWD aswell.

That spreadsheet has a few misprints to be fair, mainly the weight on a few of the cars and also the Vauxhall Astra did a 18.76, not 14.76..
Looking forward to next year's event already. Should be interesting to see how the 135i will compare to the Edition 30's time from this year.
You coming this year mate? I know it's a long way, but it would solve a lot of arguments if you were to compete against a lot of the big boys..
Oh and your right, the Mk2 RS' were pretty awful. There was no way they were running 400bhp though IMO. Mine was a good 5-6 seconds faster with 50bhp less?!?!?!

^^ Which one are you on the list fella?
You can see me up there tbh I was well unhappy to get beaten by the RS as on paper I should be much faster I put it down to my standard 5th gear ... so slow once in to 5th
TX.

Have a mapped 135i now, so looking to see whether it can nip the Golf or not. Will be close to be fair as the VeeDub was a quick little ****** for what it was..

Ben, I'll definitely be there next time mate. Would be hoping for a run around the 12sec mark at Marham.
You can see the advantage the DSG made to your car in comparison to the S3's.
It's the way forward, is your 135 autobox?

Yeah it does make a big difference to be fair, but it all depends how good the person on the stick is when comparing against manual. It can take chunks out of a manual if you've got a numpty behind the wheel. But get someone that can flatshift etc then the margain is a lot smaller.
The S3's I was against had slightly more mods than mine (even though they were all S2+). But don't forget they are heavier too..
