Not being funny but can't you just take the door card off the other side and check ?

Not 100% on that. I'd try it both ways.

There should be a plain black wire (earth) that goes in position 5 of the plug. (can see the black/blue one)

Probably the reason they are not working.

Check your fuse too, if you've been swapping bits around and trying you could have blown it and now be flogging a dead horse.

I spotted the lack of a black wire mentioned but thought it was down to that one not falling out.

Not that it really helps but............

Have looked at the MY08 wiring which has the separate 3 pin plug (D102) that contains the earth return for the control unit and the lock/unlock button.

However the wire colours changed for MY08 onwards

MY08 diagrams.........

It does show you the wire colours - you just need to know how to read it.

Look through this pdf and you should gain sufficient info to read the diagrams. It also includes the wire colour abbreviations,

http://www.subaru-car.ru/imp4/imp04_wir_1.pdf

You may be able to obtain the MY07 manual from an ebay supplier as I couldn't find any "free" copies on the net.

By tracing the wires from the other door switches you can probably work out which colours have changed from the MY06 version.
