How do users without a proper keypad find using the touch screens? It must be a bit of a pain typing out emails etc?

Nokia's strategy has been a shambles, and its decision not to sell the critically-acclaimed N900 to US, UK, Germany, etc completely baffles me.

Easier typing on a touchscreen once youve got used to it. Wouldnt recommend typing a long message up though as my hand/fingers ache after a while.

I had the iphone3 and went to HTC HD7 for the xbox live and like for like they seemed equal.
5 months on and although im glad i didnt pay through the nose for the Iphone4 I wonder if I should of got it.
I can't use the HD7 on a sunny day. xbox live games arn't cheap and it's as if they rushed to get the phone out as the market place / aps are no where near as good as the iphone. Granteed its new technology but do they really need to start so far back in comparison?

Desire Z, standard 2.3.3 o/s
Got it because it was the nearest phone to my N900, Think I prefered the Linux o/s but have got used to Android now.
I much prefer a proper QWERTY keyboard, Tried a N8 and it was ****
Have tried iphone 1-4 and hate all phone with less than 40 buttons!

Just looked at my battery useage for the weekend.
Took it off charge at 17:00 on Friday night, battery lasted till 04:00 this morning. Not bad. Probably made half a dozen calls and also used the internet a few times. My standard HTC battery would have been dead by Sunday morning, if not Sat night.

I phone 3GS here. It's had a jail break for a while now, so it's a pretty decent phone for me.
It probably has capabilities beyond what I use to be honest.

Blackberry for work, battery is amazing, it reads Microsoft docs fine and the email is spot on. However web browsing is shocking. Very slow going. Doesn't bother me though, as I say it is for work.
Personal phone Xperia Arc. Brilliant bit of kit, amazing camera, battery life terrible though.
Mrs just picked up an Xperia Neo and that seems to have better battery life as the screen is smaller. Also a bit chunkier but comes in a nice metallic blue to make up for it.

I have a dumb phone. But it was free, and on a £10/m 1yr contract with £80 Quidco cashback, I effectively only pay £3.33/m for more minutes and texts than I'll ever need. Don't need email on the go, and would rather shoot myself in the face than constantly tell everyone on Facebook that I'm going for a coffee/lunch/shopping/$h!t or whatever.

Galaxy S here -
Rooted & lagfixed
MP3 & video are great, and its connectivity is second to non...
Apps agogo with very few restrictions
Downsides.... no flash on the camera ..
looking for Galayx S 2 at upgrade time
Mart

Got a Jailbroken iphone3gs at the moment. And despite being a heavy Mac user, I've just not gelled with it at all. I thought the jailbreak would help, but right now I'm looking at a Blackberry to replace it with.
Looked at Android stuff, but it just seems too fragmented for my liking. iPhone 4, well, my biggest issue is that it's pointless committing to a 2yr contract on a phone that's about to be superseded. + the aerial farce is too much to bear. I have a case for my 3gs because I choose to, not because I have to.
That said, when I'm about to commit (any day now), I'll probably bin the whole lot and got mobile-free!!
