To the people who don't know me that well, this wasn't an attempt to stir up trouble.
It's just a video I came across and thought it was funny. Not because it's about homosexuals, but because of the seriousness of it in it's time, and how peoples outlook has (thankfully) changed.

Kieran, please give me some credit for being able to recognise and appreciate irony when I see it - in fact I presume Hysteria posted the vid with that intent - but certain of the later comments are not intended to be ironic.

Probably much like Banny felt after the umpteen threads about Muslims in the last twelve months.
It's like being back in the school playgroud FFS! If you are not a white herterosexual male that can drink 10 pints a night and treat women like sex objects then you are somehow less of a person. Time the place grew up I think.
The other thing I find annoying about that video is the guy depicted in it is more of a paedophile than anything which of course reinforces another stereotype that many hard of thinking seem to get confused about ... that somehow being gay makes you a threat to children.

The mods may have set a precedent by clamping down over this, but it does not make it right.
In fact I think it is quite cowardly.
It puts politeness over civility.
Honor-Culture over modernity.
Censorship over free speech.
What can and cannot now be discussed is measured by if a small clique moans about it or not, if they do not like what is being said. They see an assault on their ideas as an assault on their 'face', their 'honor', it is retrograde. Modernity demands self-criticism.

FWIW, I'm starting to think this will go full circle. Things will get a lot worse, for sure. Eventually, nobody will be able to say anything without fear of stepping on somebodies toes. In time it will wear thin and society will (hopefully) adopt the view that everyone is entitled an opinion and will only be held accountable if it can be proven they are actively attempting to cause distress.
