In the case of the Muslim threads I think 'even being mentioned' maybe stretching the litany of post heavy threads on the subject over the last twelve months a bit far

As for moderating and censorship I am saying nothing... the last time I did I got banned.... as did you I think! As you see us on opposite sides of the fence maybe this should tell you and I something? Hmmmmm

That's twice you've mentioned muslims in this thread alone.

Sure but the threads in question are either civil based on their content (i.e not slandering, or abusing etc) or they are not.

Then the arguments presented are matters of opinion.

But the reason they have been censored is solely because they are impolite to some people who find them an attack on their 'faces' and 'honor'. Nothing to do with arguments being right or wrong.

It was impolite in Stalin's Russia to criticise Stalin's rule.

But Tony that is just all in your opinion and one of which you are of course entitled to whereas in the opinion of others (myself included) those threads sometimes went too far.

According to the mods they did not specifically break any rules regarding content.

I was actually banned for my intentions behind those posts (trolling), and 'anti-community spirit'.

Whatever happened to Evelyn Beatrice Hall's quote:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".

Unfortunately it opened the door for vindictive gay-bashing from people who still harbour those archaic prejudices.

I'm appalled that the "M" word has been brought into it, though - it ought to have its own version of Godwin's Law on here. Speaking of which, Tony's managed to get one in by comparing the situation with Stalinist Russia.

I think that would be an inverse Godwin? Communism being the opposite of National Socialism?

"will you both stop banging on about ******* muslims before I lose the ******* will to live"

Cultural-Marxism, that's what happened to it. Very much of the left (you'll notice the correllation on here) and ignoble in the tactics it employs: moral-blackmail, obfuscation and untruths. Will not (or cannot) engage in debate and discussion where fact, logic and reason has primacy, as the argument will be lost, therefor closes down debate or discussion by any means necessary.

OK so does this here freedom of speech you claim to be so fond of apply to anything then? And if I start a thread on something that I choose to throw out there for debate will the mods let it ride? If so we will have some fun

Well I will but we need our beloved mods to tell me whether JTaylor is right about this freedom of speech thing or whether I am looking at another ban depending on what I choose we should all debate

Just be aware of this one:

- Posting anything that is deemed by the webteam to be conducive with inciting disharmony among members
If someone responds disharmoniously, and you've incited it, and mod A rather than mod B is on duty, you're fcuked.

I think that rule was C&P'd from the Chinese Communist Party manifesto.

On your head be it

Seriously, I am all for freedom of speech (within reason, i.e. keeping things civil), it's all of you guys that moan about whether or not freedom of speech should be allowed (depending upon the subject).

I don't know what other mods would make of such an act though, they might view it as trolling if you deliberately start a thread to wind up another member.

That's incorrect. It's a select few who've badgered admin. for a stricter regime and seemingly it's specific to one subject: I***m. I'll dig out the quotes and threads in policy if that's helpful, there are some real gems.

That presupposes the mods 'know' why someone starts a thread.

How do you know why someone starts a thread unless they explicitly say, or the mod is a mind reader?
