Alas the listing turned out to be a rather large lie, went from 410bhp to 310 then on questioning we settled on it was actually standard with a different back box,a standard m reg impreza is nowhere near 310bhp let alone 410 bhp.
if you look at the mods sent to me it has zero engine mods other than an exhaust.
then bills for £35000 went down to 27000 to 17000 to well i have some receipts for some brake pads and an air filter.
All in all the ad was a massive lie with not one shred of truth in it.
The guy is basically an illiterate liar and these people bother me as it gives us subaru owners a bad name.
Then the final straw, he tried to cancel the transaction to avoid fees saying i was messing him about and the item was as described, to which i declined so he has been billed lol.
Then emailed asking not to give negative feedback
What a ******!!
relisting coming soon no doubt

im the buyer he cant, he lied in listing,
the listing is a complete lie so is totally against ebay rules, no receipts as promised nowhere near the 410 bhp first stated, or the 310 bhp later changed too and the £35000 spent is £3000 at best.
im not obliged to do anything else as the item is not as described..

Well done.
Didn't know if I agree'd with what you were doing at first but you're right, there's so many liars selling stuff on ebay.
I used to trawl through ebay all the time looking for an sti and the amount of classic uk 2000 turbos or wrx's that were advertised as sti's was incredible. I used to email them asking whether they were waisting their money insuring it as an sti. 99% of the time you'd get a reply along the lines of "it's a wrx sti prodrive but uk so cheap insurance"
You only need to look at the size of the writing to see if the seller is a billy bull5hitter, nice large font with some text speak and a 500 word sentence = clueless 'trader' or just dopey bull5hitter.
The other annoying thing you see a lot of is the list of modifications from some totally clueless folk.
Usually goes something like this (truth in brackets)
GREEDY BOOSTING GAUGE! (prob a greddy sticker somewhere)
BAILEYS DUMPVALVE!! (ice with that?)
HKS FULL STAINLESS EXHAUST (any cheap back box with huge tail mated to rusted through stock front system)
FULL STI REPLICA!! (fake sti boot decal)
K&N INDUCTION KIT (any generic ebay ****e cone filter hanging off the end of the inlet pipe unsupported like a flacid *****)
400BHP!! (205bhp)
MINT CONDITION (totally fukked)
STARTS FIRST TIME! (engine knackered)
UPRATED BREAKS (tea breaks?)
NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!! (aaarrrggghhh)
FULL SERVICE HISTORY! (A receipt from kwik fit for 1 woosung tyre)
There's actually an Impreza on ebay at the moment with a 'piggy bank ecu' lol, made me laugh.

let me explain the reasons for doing this,
i am now on my 3rd impreza and when trying to sell me previous 2 i always included receipts and documentation including remap bhp printouts.
my previous wrx was remapped to about 300 bhp and the amount of people/timewasters i had viewing or asking questions as to why is it ONLY 300 bhp as i've seen another one with 400bhp for the same price will you take x ammount, then when you see the ad for said car its a standard wrx , with standard turbo top mount, injectors etc.
these lying ads are giving all subaru owners a bad name as some of us actually do mod our cars and getting near 400 bhp is a very expensive hobby and when it comes to selling can be hard due to all the bull****ters.
and the second reason, my friend brought a wrx some time ago on ebay which was advertised as having 330 bhp, after owning a while he had it rolling road tuned and it came to light that it was completely standard and had no remap whatsoever.
as he brought it on ebay he complained via there procedure and had no joy whatsover,so ebay let these idiots get away with it and dont regulate all the lies from listings despite the car not being as described whatsoever.
and when you buy a car and complain they are not the slightest bit of help and offer no protection.
i do not do this all the time, when i see an impreza like the said snowlough above, i always bid as i know its bull**** and ebay let them get away with it, but ebay also works in my favour to as i dont need to buy if item is not as described, therefore doing nothing wrong.
ie. receipts for £35000 we all know this is a total lie so not as described. the car actually is an old standard m reg impreza with zero engine mods whatsoever, the only performance mods it has are a cat back exhaust and grooved front discs so hardly a 35000 pound 410 bhp performance car is it, also made much slower by having to cart around half a ton of fibreglass and filler.
but if i ever did win one for £1600 and it was genuine i would complete the transaction and break the car as the parts would be worth a small fortune.
it also provides much amusement with the emails asking about the mods, favourite replys are "i would explain the engine mods but as you know nothing about imprezas its pointless"
another is what clutch has it got to handle that power "the standard subaru clutch can handle about 450bhp so the standard one is fine"
**** me im stupid ive just wasted money on a pink box one then.my standard one gave up the ghost at 350 bhp ill ring subaru tommorow and complain.

I was the same looked at loads when I bought mine and I would say 60 percent had plucked figures from thin air.
This is why I just bought a more or less standard one, clean as a whistle and from a guy who told the truth in his add even down the the last stone chip.

i know you never get the money back when you sell modded imprezas but its made harder by the liars.
with so many for sale its hard to get people to view the cars to see how good they are and to see supporting documentation.
410bhp and £35000 spent so sold for £1550 yeh right!!!

Do you not get a 'second chance offer' or whatever it's called allowing the next person to purchase if the first drops out? I remember selling a car on there (albeit must have been 7 years ago!) and noticed I had the ability to resell to the second highest bidder! Not that I reckon they would buy it either, specially if they take note of this thread! Haha!
