I've already explained that I have the receipt for the belt supply and fit, I also explained that I have a receipt for the supply of the clutch but this was fitted by a garage cash in hand as I was going to sell it and so he fitted it £100 cheaper as no vat was charged. The spoiler looks real but I won't be sticking my neck on the line again just in case. I had actually decided to keep the car due to all that's happened not to mention I just payed out £494 for the clutch which is money that I won't see again, the car is what it is, I like it others obviously don't. If I was to sell it I would take £5,200 as that helps me with moving house and just the money I save on petrol and insurance frees up some extra cash. I don't have any interest in what the guys on a chat forum have to say about a bloke they never met. If somebody genuinely wants to buy the car great if not it stays in my garage. Thanks steve
For a start, if he's looking to save some cash the best place to start is to insure it as the WRX that it is... I'm sure that's a few quid cheaper!! Oh, and buy the right parts.

As for "I like it others obviously don't"... not liking it wasn't the issue, the issue was thinking he could take someone for a complete mug and sell it as an STI.

do you seriously think he is insuring a wrx as an sti????
it was another lie, as soon as he gave the insurance company his reg no. they would know its a wrx.

as he has read the thread hopefully he will give his side of the story and explain how it was all a mistake.

but i suspect we are right in the assumption he is a liar and knew from the outset it was a wrx and was trying to pass it off as an sti.

but you do have to ask yourself how thick is he??
surely even if a buyer didnt notice it was a wrx with a wonky sti badge, a hpi check would turn up it was wrx and failing that the insurance would confirm this.

Yeah true... I think he's gotta be thick on either count.

a.) if he tried to pull one

or

b.) if he bought it as an STI

I'm on my 1st scooby, but when I went looking I knew there was a distinct difference, more than as you say a wonky STI badge and a spoiler.

Oh well, you never know, as he's keeping it he may even join up on SN. He'll learn a thing or two then eh.
